Justice Mohammad Anwarul Haque has been reading out the verdict on six war crimes charges brought against Sayedee. The charges were no 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 13.
Another tribunal member Jahangir Hossain was now reading the verdict as Hoque took a break.
The three-member International Crimes Tribunal -1, set up to try crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, on Mar 25, 2010, met at 11:10am with Sayedee already in the dock.
The court began with ATM Fazle Kabir making a few statements to set the mood of the court before a summary of the 120-page verdict began.
“The man who is accused in this case is well-known. His sermons draw crowds of devotees from afar,” said Kabir.
“Delwar Hossain Sayedee is not merely known as Maulana, but was elected as MP twice.”
“Another identity is that he is the Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami.”
Introducing the accused to those present in the courtroom, Kabir said, “Today’s verdict is not against Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee. This tribunal is not giving a verdict against any Jamaat leader or a politician elected MP twice either.”
“We have to look 40 years back now to know the persom against whom the verdict is being delivered. Then Sayedee was known by the name of Delu at Pirozpur.”
Sayedee looked tense in white Panjabi with a black vest on it as Justice Anwarul Hoque started reading the verdict with permission from the tribunal Chairman.
As the court session progresses, the entire nation holds its breath for a verdict many have waited for four decades.

Or maybe to prevent Shahbag protesters from acting on passion in case Sayeedi doesn't get a death sentence.
In any case, it is not a good idea.
It's making trouble for me as I'm in Bangladesh now.

The government has blocked social networking site Facebook to contain negative campaigns centring the judgement in war crimes trial of top Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee, according to official sources.
Confirming the action, a well-placed source with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said Facebook was shutdown around 11:00am.
However, people in many parts of the city were able to access Facebook through mobile phones.

@RiasatKhan, mate it's time to turn the TV on I guess. I'm keeping an eye on the tv also. Will go down onto the streets if Sayeedi gets anything other than a death sentence.

On 29 March 2012 the tribunal passed an order which allowed 15 unsigned statements to be admitted as evidence without the relevant witnesses being brought to court.
