China did bet on wrong horse in this Ukraine business.

Maybe Xi believed it when Putin said that Ukraine is a cake walk and west simply rolls overs... now west is more united that ever before after cold war and it's exactly what China doesn't want. Now it's likely that wests stance towards China becomes even more assertive and wont change as long Xi is in power... probably not after his departure either.

Hu Jintao was a lot more capable leader than Xi Jinping.

Whether russia win or lose the ukrainian war has little to do with china. Russia has natural resource,nuclear warheads and willing to be a partner to fight against USA with china is what matters. Most of chinese think Xi is the best president china have in decades.
