ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday announced to receding the ‘Azadi March’ sit-in protest back to the D-Chowk, reiterating that the protesters won’t leave without Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation, Dunya News reported.

Khan said that those engaging in the blame game in parliament are maligning the Pakistan army.

Addressing the ‘Azadi March’ participants, Khan said he is fighting Pakistan’s fight and not his own, adding that PTI marchers have come to Islamabad on people’s signal. He said the protesters will not leave without Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation.

PTI chief said that some people thought that the protesters will leave after getting exhausted, claiming that the number of sit-in participants is increasing continuously. He said PTI has almost won the fight for a ‘new Pakistan’.

Imran Khan reiterated that PTI marched on Islamabad on the signal of the people and not of the army, adding that those accusing PTI of doing so are actually maligning the army.

PTI chief said that the rulers are leading luxurious lives while putting the whole financial burden on the poor. He said awakening of Pakistani nation is critical.

He is moving forward again. I really hope there wont be any casualties. Imran is playing a dangerous game especially when N is looking for a crackdown.

Expect the crowd to get strength now.Now apart from the local of Islamabad/Pindi.the rest of the Pakistan will once again look for joining the dharna.

Songs?- i am waiting for the live mujras-
ye musical nights hain koi kotha nahi jahan mujra play ho

Haan log agar khud dance kar lain to is main bechare/bholay/masoom se Imran Khan ka kya qasoor. Afterall naya Pakistan hai, aage log speech ke doran Namaz ka waqfa detay thay, crowd bhi waisa hi thaa jo khamosh ho jaata thaa... ab speech ke doran song ka waqfa aata hai.. changed Pakistan main thoray haath pair hila le to koi buri baat nahi

With floods in Pakistan, I guess he ought to go back to kpk, government is not going anywhere. He can always come back (with current scenario dharna culture is gone for atleast 1-2 years).
In b/w D chowk is/was/will always be better option unless/until you want to spill blood..

He's moving backward, D chowk is not a part of red zone I think.

It's a good move imo, will definitely help dilute tension. Can be a step designed to facilitate rescheduling of Chinese president visit to Pakistan.

Bad hat Qadri should also retreat.

Any clues to how IK intends to back down now? He made a lot of hooha on PM's resignation, which quite obviously is not going to happen now.
He lost fan base, showed repeatedly that he is a stubborn baby pleading the Prime Minister to resign or else he might start crying.. no idea what he will do, probably his ill-advisors might continue to make him do foolish stuff... I think Qureshi is a tricky politician who may bring alternative solution to this mess.

PTI ne apne paon pe khud kulhari maari hai pehle, kam-az-kam unko apni asliyat ka pata chal gaya ke 1,000,000 logon ki call aur 3-4 months ki mega campaign ke baad 30,000 log ikathay kar paye un main se bhi pata nahi kitne PTI ke direct members hon ge jo different reasons se har jaga pohanch jayen ge, they clearly lacked people support to pursue with anarchy march.

The sooner they end this mess, the better for Pakistan and its dwindling economy

thank God. PTI's ability to attract crowd is much better at a place like D Chaowk. Also staying in a non-public area and sharing stage with PAT is not a comfortable position to defend yourself from. Im sure PTI leaders have done their best to convince IK in making this decision.

Isnt D chowk near the parliament entrance

If they are moving back then its a great step as this way they can go back. So in the end the entire event was fruitless and nothing was achieved. Well atleast this way the parliament wont have any issues with him going back to point A where he started from but i still hope they wont attack him during the movement due to any confusions.

Yes qadri should and i think he would follow suit.
