These Saudi's a curse upon us all. They have wrecked our heritage first out of pure hatred for it and now under the guise of commerce. Extending the masjid to accommodate pilgrims is understandable, but why do the 100 or so hotels that they plan to build need to be right next to it? Why couldn't they be on the outskirts of the city and have trams running to the haram from every direction? The area in the centre of Makkah should be a huge open air museum, pedestrianised, exhibits built around the sights of significance. I fear it's too late for a lot of that already. Today we leave the doors of the haram sharif and see McDonalds and KFC.
