Pakistans economy is heading in a general good direction and if keeps taking off then 2017 will be a important year for us, a more effective export policy with support for manufacturing is vital

Khwaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal are on record (I have heard both of them myself, Khwaja Asif on a show with Hamid Mir I think, or Kashif Abbasi during Ramzan) said that for the past few months textile and steel industry was exempt from loadshedding. Completely exempt.

It was only in Ramzan that power cuts were being done in industry to facilitate domestic consumer.

Yet still, textile exports dropped. So certainly you can't put it all on electricity.

THis government has to be honest, had a way toooo easy time than PPP (not justifying PPP here).

Only thing they are good at is making infrastructure in record time by using a shitload of money and then making tall claims about super investments by China etc.

I agree with you, on annual basis overseas Pakistanis sends around 18 Billion dollars, what if we were not having these easy cash, we would be like Greek now, bankrupt and sold.

I already mentioned this in another thread. With foreign (imports) contracts the ginerals and siysadan can take kickbacks. They are all corrupt not just sysadan, but ginerals too. Exports not only depend on the current year if previous years were effected by missed orders, limited working hours fue to power shortages etc it will effect current exports

Come what may the economy is getting better and we should concentrate on ensuring policy that supports manufacturing to take advantage of better times
