Al Waleed Bin Talal buys shares in Twitter worth USD 300 million

You seem confused, let me clear things up for you by asking you two questions.

1) Where did he get the millions in order to invest and grow richer? (hint: rich daddy synderome)

2) How will he make money on his investment by investing in a company that barely makes anything?

Answer these questions and you will understand the confusion. This is no different than Kim Jung Ill's obsession with luxury while his citizens were dying of hunger. In this case, Saudi oil is funding the non-sensical spending habits of a few in the upper echelons of an archaic absolute monarchy. This is not his money, this is Saudi many being wasted.

Let me ask you two questions

1. Did you study Talal's business prior to this deal ?
2. How come you are out of school ?

10 years ago a prince would come take your land evict you from your house and throw on your street and there was nothing you could do but say "Thank you for choosing my land your majesty" because if you said anything else this prince would make sure you are never heard of ever again. But that was before King Abdullah came and made a stop to all of this. The princes agreed to stop their plundering and keep the money they already took gave some lands back and to us it was a fair deal.

King Abdullah is not loved by all Saudis for nothing.

Enough with your crap. I'm tired of your whitewashing of your ruling family's crimes.

Just a few years a Saudi prince admitted on live television to stealing more than 50 BILLION from the coffers due to corruption and he replied, "so what?". No one believes you that this has all stopped because of a decree from your believed King.

Ummm. No it was not by decree. Yes he admitted of corruption but that was corruption of times past. Yahya you need to take things as is for once. I know my country better than anyone here and if there is something wrong I will admit it and that's about my job here.

1) Good point, no doubt initial wealth was plundered from the Saudi population, being a day trader i have come across articles/ info on deals this prince has done in the business world and i can say he has made some very risky investments that paid off making him very rich.

2) A company that makes barely anything? you don't know sh1t. Twitters earning will be in the hundreds of milions and billions in the future. It is not a publicly listed business so doesn't have to show all its earnings to the public. Duh he is investing $300 million you wouldn't do that if a firm wasn't earning anything.
If you argue that it is to keep activists at bay, well there are quite a few other investors and stakeholders and twitter would suffer if it censored any such posts. Would twitter accept $300 as investment if they thought they would be influenced by the saudis, i don't think so. They could easily generate millions simply via an IPO.

He is free to do what he wishes with his money, as a share holder he can in the future become a majority shareholder and initiate changes to the website and dictate the direction etc so those saying he can't again don't know sh1t.

I think those trying to fight a corner against this prince need to first initiate their frustrations to their own leaders and then consider others affairs.

It is simply a very good investment that will pay huge dividends in the future.

1) yes I did. In 90's the invested hundreds of millions in citibank. His investments are now worth billions. Where did he get those millions from initially? Saudi oil money that's where.

2) In western countries they celebrate Christmas (you don't seem to know). Everybody has a 2 week break.
weird question

This Arab vs. Iranian hatred is getting pretty tiresome on this forum. This is NOT an Iranian forum, and this is NOT a Saudi forum, the title on the top says "Pakistan Defence".

When some blond blue-eyed westerner comes to Iran, Saudia Arabia OR Pakistan, we people(political leaders, and individuals) bend backwards to show how westernized and "modern" we are, even our political leaders long for acceptance by the west. You try to be understanding and accepting of every single vice westerners and their culture has. And yet, the height of hypocracy, all I see is a constant vomit of hatred and name-calling of child-like immaturity. And it's getting pretty old now.

Can't you people act like civilized, decent human beings?
