I don't think he can for two reasons: one, the Sauds don't like to acknowledge Egypt as a leader of Arabs, and two, the Sauds still think religious hatred is a useful tool and if any problems exist it's either a matter of propaganda to direct violence the way they wish or for their National Guard & Western allies to suppress if violence gets out of hand. I don't think this has anything to do with Saudi. Remember that Egypt used to be viewed as the leader of the Arab world in the 60's and 70's. The linchpin of Arabism.

Whether you liked the MB or not was never the point, it was the onset of democracy, you dont have to like the opposition you just have to respect the democratic will of the population and strengthen the institutions if democracy

The first democratic government was ALWAYS going to be a failure simply because Egypt had to many problems so after a few years with a anti MB military and state a secular opposition coming to power was enivitable, the MB than would have to go back to the drawing board to learn how to rule and make coherent policies with the knowledge that they were voted out by the public and had to get better


All that is gone, the idiots in Egypy just destroyed the onset of democracy and allowed a corrupt military and state to retake power to protect the few elites and disregard the millions of MB voters and ordinary Egyptians
