Al-Sisi: No one will be able to take a drop of water from Egypt. And whoever wants to be tested, let him be tested

Yes Turkey and Israel already are..... But just their being strong doesn't make Egypt weaker.... All 3 are kings of Mediterranean....
egypt is a third rate military. thats why they don't enter the war in Libya. They are only bark and no bite
They have no business in this,,the Nile is the life line of Egypt and Sudan.. Even Ethiopia with all its rain doesn't really need it..It will be taken in 24 hours and operated by Egypt and Sudan..Ethiopia showed only hatred and bad intentions.. it can't be left to operate the Dam on its own.. this Dam which is 15 km away from the borders with Sudan is like a timely bomb on the head of Sudan and Egypt ..it needs to be dealt with firmly and forcefully..as it is a matter of life and death.. too dangerous to even negotiate about it now..or think about political consequences..

Although my views are usually moderate.. in this matter that I have been following for the last 10 years.. there are no other solutions.. Maybe the signing of an agreement with guarantees by the UNSC can do .. but nothing less than that.. as Ethiopia showed it is not trustworthy at all..
I was talking about regional powers in the Mediterranean. not the dam

A)Ethiopia has no such obligation to do so.

B) can I get a link to the nations who're asking ethiopia to do so?

You provided international laws, yes, but you've failed to prove that Ethiopia is violating them.

The two points you highlighted don't forbid construction of a dam. Ethiopia has already said that Egypt's water supply will not be affected, and Egypt has so far failed to prove other wise.

Its is not a simple matter of simply saying Ethiopia is violating international law, the accusers must provide ample evidence of it.

Also, the "The Declaration of the American States in 1933" im pretty sure doesn't apply here, as it only encompasses North and South America.

As for the UNSC, this is a water dispute between two nations. If Egypt was serious and had evidence, they'd go to the ICA and sue.

Going to the UNSC does nothing, unless Egypt actually decides to take military action. In which case, Egypt will likely face swift backlash in the UNSC.
All out war is not needed. What if Egypt were to launch a precision strike to destroy just the Dam? So many nations launch quick strikes at perceived threats as a matter of policy and UNSC does nothing.

I know Dam busting has many technical issues with this but I believe it is possible with the correct munitions.

I disagree. Egyptian army would have defeated Israel in the 1973 war if they had a better air force at the time.

African Nations, the US, the EU.. the Arab world mainly..
If you were following this subject since it beginning you would know by now that Ethiopia either ignores the International laws or do it on purpose.. they even said officially that the Nile is theirs..

They have in fact defeated Usrael even with a less technologically advanced air force and took back Sinai..

Man look at their military with Abraham M1 tanks, navy with Gowind and Fremm French warships, air force with Sukhoi 35, MiG 29 M2s, F16.... Does it look a third grade military to you....

I'll check the links out, when I have the time. Skimming through them, I'm not really convinced, but I'll go into more detail when I'm free to do so.

You make it seem as if Ethiopia can't retaliate.

In fact, even if Ethiopia doesn't militarily retaliate, there will be extreme consequences for Egypt from the international community. The US will almost certainly sanctions Egypt.

There are much more technical problems.. I have provided them in another thread here on PDF about the same subject..

There some very complicated legalities.. The US will have to sanction both Egypt and Sudan.. but that area of the DAM belongs to Sudan it is known as Bani Shangul province..it is a Sudanese land that has been administered by Ethiopia since the British occupation and has pledged to the occupation not to build any building that harms the course of the Nile River on it. Therefore, Ethiopia's failure to recognize any agreement with the British occupation ( here concerning Sudan and Egypt's rights to water quotas ..), Means that Sudan has the right to regain the Beni shangul region to its sovereignty..

Sudan isn't completely opposed to the dam, and did in fact support it at various points in time.

Egypt relying on Sudan's support is foolish, as Sudan itself is in two minds about it.

Whether or not Ethiopia recognizes anything from a British occupation is irrelevant. While treaties are often inherited, its not a prerequisite to independence or statehood, or even necessary to recognize it in current contexts.

Nations have their own interests to keep in mind, if both Egypt and Sudan feel strong about their case, whether that be water or border disputes, they can go to the international Court or arbitration to make their respective cases.

Sudan's risks with the GERD DAM is worst than the Egyptian one.. if there is ever any mishap with the DAM, Sudan can be flooded to death..

Anyway.. Egypt and Sudan have just signed a defense agreement recently..

Sissi will take the water % that Ethiopia will allow him to have, and he will be glad to get it...All that bravado is for internal consumption...He is powerless with all that quincaillerie Egyptian army accumulated since Sadat.

The defense agreement is meaningless.

Dams always have an inherent risk, that doesn't mean there is no benefit.

In this case it means a lot..for both Egypt and Sudan..

If the risks outweigh the the benefits for others..then it is a dangerous matter..
"Your freedom stops where the other's freedom starts".. as the saying goes

Egypt won't risk war, so this is nothing more than bluster. Any attack on Ethiopia's dam would immediately isolate Egypt.

The time to do anything was before this project took of --
At this juncture they can't do anything but bluster. Egypt is in a position of a boy who got a beating and goes to his mother to and taunts the enemy and tells her what he'll do.

Is he seriously threatening Ethiopia? this must be a joke. look at Egypt now! threatening Ethiopia hahaha. it's funny. these weak Arabs can only threaten weak countries. Against a country like Israel, they will only sit silent.
