Hmmmmmmm..........I wouldn't be so sure. Egypt is not a small/weak country militarily. On the contrary, if they really intervene then things will get really bad for the GNA and Turkey. You should know that Egpyt has the military power, manpower, financial power(KSA,UAE, and to a lesser extent France, Russia) and most of all they border Libya so they will face less logistics issues unlike Turkey. So they have the home advantage. I fail to see how this is good news for Turkey like some of you claim. If anything it will undo all the efforts Turkey has put into Libya and undo all GNA's gain. So i think Turkeys best bet is to reign on their proxy the GNA and tell them to stay put and just keep the territory they already control.
Nobody is trying to underestimate Egypt but we shouldn’t omit the fact that egyptian army doesn’t have real battle experience
On the other hand you have syrians with extensive proven experience plus gna forces who also have more experience than egyptian regular units
If they fully intervene then certainly it would be interesting to see Turkey’s reaction
I personally think that Turkey won’t retaliate as long they aren’t attacked and most likely Egypt won’t do that
This is dangerous situation for GNA if they are left alone yet who knows what will happen after all we are discussing things through Egypt/UAE/KSA/France/LNA and Turkey/Qatar/GNA without taking into consideration the interests of the military superpowers(USA and Russia)
Even the interests of Europe UK and NATO are being overlooked in this thread which also wrong
Maybe Egypt and LNA after initial success might try to restart Tripoli offensive again and if this stupid move happen then we will see turkish direct action against Egypt
The reason why GNA&Turkey want to take Sirte Juffra and the oil region is due to political negotiations and of course due to economic though for now the economic one is more important for GNA
We can see from the arrogant statements issued by haftar’s backers that they don’t want any democratic solution instead they want to install puppet military dictatorship
The only way to force them change their maximalist positions is to get Sirte Juffra and the oil region
Regarding ceasefire I think we have de-facto one until the Sirte battle begins
If you ask me how I would play in Turkey’s place: delay Sirte offensive for the next 2-4 weeks and wait for the protests in Egypt(allegedly will occur on 30th June) and the filling of GERD dam which is supposed to start in July and then put pressure on Egypt in Libya with the Sirte ground operation
lol Islamic takeover?I hate the Arab dictators but I hate the Islamic fanatics more. If I had to choose one side it would not be with the terrorists.
Plot twist:islamic fanatics are the direct consequence of arab dictators(I will be more exact:arab royal families and fellow puppets in non-monarchy arab states) who bribed corrupted so-called religious scholars into spreading hardline teachings among the muslims in the last several decades
We are talking about the same people who are now willing to be best buddies with Israel in order to save their thrones but cry when an ordinary arab(and non-arab muslim) call them out for treason
Maybe if they didn’t spend billions of dollars to brainwashing(read institutional hate of jews) muslims wouldn’t react so much angrily to what they are doing(normalization with Israel)
I forgot to add that a madkhali sheikh who happens to live in KSA has issued so-called jihad fatwa against Turkey&GNA hahahahah
Long live haftar the secularist!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
just see the level of propaganda pushed by haftar and his backers even saddam hussein envies them
