Al Khalid and Al Zarrar production

Plz do not spam misinformation. There is no verification that Al Khalid 1 was mass produced. Perhaps simply Al Khalid was renamed as Al Khalid 1 after plans for Al Khalid 2 were revealed and a symbolic designation became necessary to differentiate one block from another.

ZERO Al Khalid was produced during second Half of Asif Ali Zardari Government. Only Main Gun production continued during that time. Nothing else.

Actually no ... HIT website itself shows AK-I as another product...

You can believe what you want to believe, but 320 is not the right number for Al-Khalid and Al-Khalid 1 tank.
These are 2 separate products, Pakistan has the capability to build 50 tanks per year.

Al-Khalid 1 demonstration.

We are actively seeking buyers for our tanks, we are marketing both Al-Khalid and Al-Khalid 1 tank to friendly countries. We have it in our inventory, and we have given demonstration of both Al-Khalid and Al-Khalid 1 tank to friendly countries.

People disagreed with me when I said that Pakistan and China are working JF-17 Block IV, now it has been confirmed by PAC officials.

Ukraine to provide engines for Pakistan's improved Al Khalid MBT
Farhan Bokhari, Karachi and Gabriel Dominguez, London - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
24 November 2016
http://www.janes.com/article/65742/ukraine-to-provide-engines-for-pakistan-s-improved-al-khalid-mbt

The Pakistani government has signed an agreement with Ukraine for the supply of 200 engines to equip the country's highly anticipated next-generation main battle tank (MBT), which is commonly referred to as the Al Khalid-Improved (I) MBT, according to Pakistani defence officials.

The deal was signed on 23 November during the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS), which is held every two years in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi.

While the exact type of engine was not revealed, a senior official of Pakistan's Ministry of Defence (MoD) told IHS Jane's that it will be larger than the Ukrainian 6TD-2 engine generating a maximum 1,200 bhp that powers the 420 Al Khalid MBTs operated by the Pakistan Army's Armoured Corps.

Pakistan Army for some reason is not telling right figure to senate
@Tipu7 @DESERT FIGHTER

I wouldn't take senates word as final

The same paper says 50 x JF17 when in fact this figure was reached in end of 2013

2015 we had 66 x JF17
This year or should I now say 2016 it was 82 x JF17 if unit 32 has reached final assembly

However the ball park figure is roughly correct say 300-400 units

Bit surprising I was hoping for a higher number the army armoured corps is huge it can take a lot more heavy armour as a matter of fact it needs more heavy armour

In 15 plus years they did only average 20-25 tanks per year not great and hardly "mass production" in the sense we know it

HIT could easily pop one tank a week

Nope.
Ukraine only supplied 315 engines for Al Khalid til 2014.
Which means this Senate committee report from 2014 mentioning 310 Al Khalid produced is 100% accurate.
Separately MoDP annual report also confirmed till July 2013, 300 Al Khalid produced and in 2013-14, 15 produced and in 2014-15, 2 produced.

Actually that's accurate too as Pakistan after producing the 50th JF-17 in Dec 2013 stopped it's production for a year till early 2015.
In 2015 16 JF-17 BLK2 produced.

Until 2015 Ukraine has supplied 425 engines for AK so 420 AK at present is fairly accurate. In addition more than 400 engines have been so far supplied for the AZ

Ukraine started supply of next batch of engines from 2014 onwards but Pakistan produced only 17 tanks in 2013-15.

We can talk about it when the Indians complete the translation of Russian production manuals to English. Just Google how screwed up production of T90 has been because of lack of information shared by the Russians and the delays in translating what was shared. Don't come to a Pakistani forum and try to act as a smart alec. Indian military production is nothing but a national embarrassment from Insas to LCA to Arjun.

Yr I know all this.
But I also know 2 "special" AK were developed in HIT for testing & evaluation purpose. The one which we see with Varta APS is one of them. No more were produced.
And there is no proof that the AK shown as "AK1" was mass produced. Apparently it's same tank but inside May be Ballistic computers & fire control systems or suspensions etc are improved.
320 AK production was confirmed by officials in IDEAS 2014.
2 AK in 2015 & probably ZERO in 2016.
Rest I will love to prove wrong but I know it's not the case.
Pakistan has the capability to build 50 tanks per year.
Having capability to build one & to build one are two entirely different things.
