Qasab's father introduced him to Zakir-ul Rehman, the man who used to operate from a secret office in Diphalpur, which saw a constant stream of visitors. Qasab does not remember the exact date, week or month in which he enrolled for training. What he could recollect was that he had heard of the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, which means he began his three-month training by the end of December 2007. His training took place in the hills of Batel village in Mansera. There were around 25 youth in all. When the police questioned him on his hospital bed whether he knew how many people he had killed, he uttered God will never forgive me for my sins.
