AJK lodges protest against converting Gilgit Baltistan into Pakistan’s province

If these regions are disputed and ppl from JK both sides have to do a plebiscite to decide which side they want to go,how can pakistan make it its province ? isn't that a clash btw position of pak on UNSC resolutions since no plebiscite has been done as its under one complete region of J&K in resolutions?

this might actually help Indian position on status quo,converting loc to IB,removal of 370,and few separatists will get a reality check that no one is interested in their independence.

Plebiscite is good word but how about it should be implemented under Shimla Agreement . Shouldn t be in whole disputed region under UN and Shimla accord. Yes, when apply the law , then fully implement it or not a selective implementation ,

Shimla agreement is just about resolving it bilaterally,btw India will oppose this move officially since we claim it but ultimately it will be of great help from a negotiation point of view.Its a good move for settling LOC to IB.

AJK has always been stubborn as far as this topic is concerned, has always tried to impose it's authority in these areas and claim GB to be part of the Kashmir issue, when it is not. [1]
Are these people really this uneducated to not understand a difference between a provincial status and special status. Legislative assembly will stay as it is, geniuses. GB is only getting constitutional status and seats in assembly, that too Observers(WTH, right?). No they are not this incompetent or un-educated, they treat GB like shit and any Rights for the locals seem to hurt them, while ironically they enjoy much more autonomy. Goes to show they don't give a shit about GB.
Again people this will not hurt our Kashmiri cause in anyway!

anyways Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK are ethnically diverse they don`t have anything in common except a common non-Muslim ruler Dogra. They are just making an opposition because they think the people of Gilgit-Baltistan are Inferior to them

Before conducting plebiscite do remember to hand over the AJK & GB to India. At least that is what is there on UN resolutions....a plebiscite under India Army and UN presence.

You can understand it, while some of our people fail to understand it. This attitude is what creates a sense of deprivation, GB is only getting Constitutional rights and a couple of seats in NA, how will this hurt Kashmiri cause? it won't, this behavior is simply unacceptable. AJK needs to grow up and people need to understand basic things.

For a reason Pakistan resisted the idea of integrating GB into Pakistan for last 70 years. As one poster before me said any attempt to make GB a Pakistan province will be the last nail on Pakistan's Kashmir cause.

Though I agree with you on the benefits that people of GB have been deprived of for the last 70 years.

@WAJsal I understand the fact that its not a complete provincial status but a special status with greater representation and greater rights. It shouldn't hurt our position especially if we play it smartly and intelligently.

The thing I mention is that it's a sacrifice I would make even if it hurt our position bcz alienating such a large group of people and such a large area is not the solution. Listen they could have easily chose to create the country of northern areas or whatever but they chose to go with Pakistan .. It is our area and its our responsibility and the plight of the people stand our issue. We cannot sacrifice these people for the Kashmir cause. We have thrown them under the bus long enough...

Our analysts must convey to AJK and the people how this move would effect or not effect our Kashmir cause. That would be the best form of guidance..

Tell me one thing? I read somewhere that GB would now get a mention in the constitution. It is already mentioned in the constitution along with FATA as autonomous region. What other mention would it get if the news is true? I remember reading about it in a newspaper couple of days ago.

People of NA don't really associate themselves with rest of Kashmiri's
They say they rather be independent or with Pakistan KPK where they have land link and similarities
This issue props up all the time for decades
A plebiscite will settle this
