Multan: Sight of Villagers looting the fuel from crashed tankers isn’t something new in Pakistan but last Sunday was different. A day before Eid this sad incident happened in Ahmedpur East.
Tire of the tanker burst which caused the tanker to crash. Tanker was reportedly carrying 25,000 liters (5,500 gallons) of fuel from Karachi to Vehari.
Villagers working in mango gardens and passengers passing by in cars and bikes all gathered to loot the fuel and fill up their tanks. Reportedly this tanker’s crash was announced in a mosque nearby so that villagers at home too can benefit from the opportunity, Ironically in Ramzan and while fasting.
Women, Children, Old as well as young men, all were filled with energy and were present at the scene with pots. While all of this was going on, someone decided to calm his nerves in this excited and tensed situation, hence lit up a cigarette.
That cigarette lit up and so did the oil. There was a huge blast and all the thieves were burning without discrimination, just like they were stealing without discrimination. Approximately 100 people died in an instant on the scene.

Army rushed on the scene with helicopters to transfer wounded to the nearby hospitals which was as near as 100km in Multan (Nishtar Hospital), as the nearest hospitals didn’t have any burn units because apparently Punjab CM Mian Shahbaz Sharif thought that hospitals, health and education is over rated so let’s make something cool in Lahore and ate the province’s funds to construct a classy train in Lahore. PM also thought to visit Pakistan from his hometown London after constantly being bashed for not even offering condolences to families. Well Canadian PM filled the gap and apparently that’s too is the success of Nawaz Sharif and his government. All became politics and 180+ lives were played, played a dirty game of point scoring.
This story ended here but this wasn’t the start!
It all started on July 6th 2012 when an announcement was made on a mosque in the same area.
Ghulam Abbas, a mental patient was arrested on the accusation of burning Holy Quran Pages and taken into custody. Religious cleric announced on the load speaker about this blasphemy and sentenced that mental patient as a criminal. His wear about were also announced to be in Police custody.
This Moulana lit the match and had his cigarette while the fire lit up. Approximately mob of 2000 people got out and blocked Lahore-Karachi Highway (Same highway where tanker crashed). This mob attacked the Police Station and took custody of that mental patient.
He was soaked in fuel and lit up. This mob kept hitting him with stones until he was no more. Many vehicles too were torched by the mob and police quarters too were damaged.
According to Police that person was homeless, abnormal and was in his early forties. Independent Human Rights Commission (HRCP) condemned, Amnesty International condemned, London based rights groups too made some noise but at the end all forgot.
But, did nature forget?? Nature came back and gathered them all of the same area, on the same place, from the same source and Ghullam Abbas after 5 years took his revenge. Indeed God knows the best and nature strikes back, not today, but eventually.
Just before Eid 180 people burned by the greed of Rs/-500-Rs/-1000….

Both incidents are saddening for every sensible human being. Such events are caused by greed and ignorance. I would call the greed as the sole cause of this tragic loss of life in tanker fire. Blaming government makes no sense. Poverty in that region is one thing but that is not the reason people were collecting/stealing the leaking oil. Car owners and bike rider were doing the same. As for the killing of an innocent person for alleged blasphemy, prevailing ignorance is the cause behind a moulana accusing a mentally-ill person of blasphemy and then calling people to kill him (and people to blindly follow that idiot moulana). This religious clergy is a mafia (just like several other mafias active in Pakistan) that doesn't feel ashamed for taking the law in their own hands. I wish that moulana too would have burned in this fire.

I don't know of the credibility of this narrative about a blasphemy case. It's a one sided story and since it was an alleged blasphemy, Western funded NGOs and international media along with 'anti-blasphemy laws gangs' have must have added 'masala' to it.

But let's say the above incident was correct, then it was an act of ignorance and oppression. And what we see in this oil tanker incident is also wide spread ignorance.

Therefore instead of making judgement on the dead; and reaching stupid conclusions, one must find solutions to these problems.

What if another oil tanker topples down somewhere? Is there a guarantee people will not reach to collect the spoils? The most they will do is making sure 'no one lights a cigarette'.

And don't try to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Don't drag blasphemy laws here. This incident was not caused by blasphemy. And don't give impression that no one blasphemes Islam's holy scriptures and it's revered religious figures. We see such things left and right on social media. There are some people in the world who are actually doing this. These things are not emerging because of an automated software operating on google.

People with low IQs have to be taught how to behave under certain conditions.

These so called human rights activists don't care when people die of other causes. They only wake up when there's a blasphemy case in Pakistan. Then they all get up to do their 'extensive' and spicy reporting so that the anti-Islamic haters will send more dollars for their 'constructive work'. You know how these local NGOs are fooling the western masters to make money. They open ghost schools, take pictures, send them through emails to a boss sitting in New York or London and go and debit money from the bank account.

Everything wrong is with the education system. You're right. Schools are nothing better than a zoo. And religious schools and masjids have no time left after teaching Arabic, Logic (mantiq), Hadith and Fiqh.

You go attend Friday prayers, before salah, the maulvi sahib goes with a long lecture by condemning people who don't pray, don't do good, or else he will go ahead with pointing fingers at other sects and their creatures.

No one here teaches Pakistanis how to behave, how to treat people, how to cross a road, how to talk to people. No civics at all. So called literate people act like the most jahils in the world.

Becoming a teacher is very easy in Pakistan. You don't get a job, no worries, go find a school and be a teacher. The most stupid people with lowest IQ are primary and secondary school teachers in this country and are paid likewise.

No one realises that primary education is the actual investment in a child's life.

those who cant be sent to school and are in middle age wont be taught through schools. Every country has safety and precautions related campaigns , where does pakistan have them?
Where was motorway police who could not cordone off the area?

Believe me when i say if experience hasn't taught a 60+ years old man something as fundamental as stealing than no school can teach this society.

I'm talking about the same issue. I'm not allowing people to kill someone on the basis of such allegation.

My point is now this issue of oil tanker tragedy is also being cashed by the anti-blasphemy law elements who have their roots in the anti-Pakistan countries.

It was stealing but not straightaway; there was a room for justification. Forgive those people, they are dead now. May be God will also forgive you for perhaps worst crimes than this 'stealing'.

Improve your English. Use 'signs' instead of 'symbols'.

Along with English, improve your IQ and knowledge of ethics (Islam) too.
