Here we go,

India is planning to test fire by next month 'Agni-2 Prime', an advanced nuclear-capable ballistic missile with a strike range of around 3,000 km. The new missile will be an advancement over the existing Agni-2, which has a strike range of 2,000 km.

The 'Agni-2 Prime' has been developed by making some changes in the Agni 2 missile and will have the same size of boosters which are there in the existing missile but will have an extended range of 1,000 km, they said.

Powered by solid fuel propellants, the 'Prime' will also have a better navigational system and greater accuracy in comparison to the Agni-2 missile.

That's pretty sad. India's can't get even the first stage on a liquid fueled rocket to work properly. The "fine art" of ballistic missiles is maintaining accuracy over long distances and advanced navigation technology like atomic clocks, celestial guidance, etc. If the test last year failed because of something as simple and basic as first stage booster, India is way far behind.

I doubt Agni-2 will be operational before 2015 at the earliest.

Agni-2 prime is the Agni-2 that is supposed to work.

Then there will be Agni-2 prime plus....... the Agni-2 that really is supposed to work

Let's get serious, that ugly looking missile has a range of 1500 km max.

someone has been drinking to much lead laced milk if you weren't so ignorant you would know that Agni 2is operational and has been tested successfully twice last year and this year.

by the way kid speak for yourself at least we learned how to design missiles on our own without copying or asking other country's for technology and this isn't coming from me have a look yourself the designs are fine rather its poor and shabby manufacturing that plagues Indian missile tests.

And, With $6-8 trillion economy with 3 Aircraft Carriers and 5 Nuclear subs, India will be great power next only to US, China. By then, India will be perfect counter balance to China's hegemony in Asia.

Agni2 prime would be a new missile with longer range in Indian arsenal.If it goes successful, it might trigger a race between India and Pakistan.
This will definitely provide Pakistan a cause of testing Ghauri 3 with 3000-3500km range.Lets see what happens.
