Can pakistan or india get their hands on the AGM-88E Advanced Anti- Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM)????????????
please discuss........... as both of our contries are in dire need of suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) systems :coffee:

The Advanced Anti- Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) Project is a Phase III Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program to develop and demonstrate a dual- mode guidance section on a HARM airframe. The AARGM Phase III technology demonstration program is designed to demonstrate that a Dual- mode (passive Anti- Radiation Homing (ARH)/ active Millimeter Wave (MMW) radar) missile can engage and destroy enemy air defenses in the event that these systems “shut- down” or employ other countermeasures

AARGM is to be employed in the offensive counter air/suppression of enemy air defenses role in direct support of all the mission areas within the objective force (e.g. strike warfare, amphibious warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, command and control warfare, and information warfare) providing a rapid, organic response to air defense threats ranging from smallscale contingencies to major theater war.

Thank you sir but the AARGM is a completely new weapon & it's not to be confused with the HARM

i just see whats in our hands .now we move to china france i don't see any future deals between US PAK so i just think abut posible future options.as we know there is many many modren waipons in world market but these are not for pakistan so why i live in dream.

I think India has the best chances of getting her hands on this system because all technological gates of the world are open for her now and even nuclear tech is being provided to her by almost everyone, this missile is less important then nuclear tech and i am sure it'd be a piece of cake for india if she intends to get it, in case of pakistan its the other way round, pakistan is being accused of 80s technology altering so we can't expect it for pakistan i am sure....

nightcrawler, the countermeasures that you said exists is effective against the HARM, but as far my knowledge, the AARGM has no countermeasures against it as of today

Well Pakistan has already bought, from Brazil, the MAR-1, which is a highly advanced and capable Anti-Radiation guided missile!

I don't think Pakistan needs worry about the AGM-88E!

Maybe the Indians should, though ;)

First of all they are not extremely different; rather AARGM is just an extension of the HARM class family missiles.
The AARGM (Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile) will feature the latest software (software seems to be the cornerstone of the HARM missile) and enhanced capabilities. The AARGM is intended to counter radar shutdown. A passive radar and an active millimeter wave seekers will be installed on the AARGM.
So if you do believe that there occurs a huge difference in the core technology of these two weapons do provide some valid links!!

MAR-1 Development began in 1997 and was kept under tight secrecy, for many years the weapon's manufacturers refused to acknowledge its existence. The missile is guided by a Brazilian-developed passive anti-radiation seeker designed to target different types of land-based and sea-based radars with different modes, including high power surveillance radars, low power mobile radars and radars used by surface-to-air missile systems. Enemy radars can be targeted by the missile independently or with targeting data from the launch aircraft's electronic warfare systems, such as the radar warning receiver (JF-17 capable for radar warning reciever).

The missile's airframe is constructed from composite materials to reduce its radar cross-section. MAR-1 has been reported to have a range of 25 km when launched from an altitude of approximately 33,000 feet, but according to a Brazilian engineer the actual range is far larger than this.

In December 2008 the Brazilian government approved the sale of 100 MAR-1 missiles to the Pakistan Air Force in a contract worth $108 million, despite pressure from Pakistan's rival, India, to cancel the sale
