he Bollywood heart-throb Saif Ali Khan has insisted that his much-awaited upcoming film Agent Vinod does not bash Pakistan at all and rather, for a change, shows India and Pakistan on the same side.
Agent Vinod, an action spy film written and directed by Sriram Raghavan, will feature Saif Ali Khan and her real life partner Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. Khans role in the movie is of an Indian spy agent from RAW as a result to which the film has some scenes shot in Pakistan.
Many out there believed that this film will also portray a negative image of Pakistan and its security agencies since Indian movies normally do this. However, the Indian actor Saif has confirmed that there is nothing like this in the movie. Saif stressed portraying a country in a negative way is not healthy for any cinemas.
Saif said, I dont think there should be bashing of any sort in movies. Its not right.
Meanwhile, the ultimate diva of Bollywood industry Kareena Kapoor shared her thoughts with the media as well.
Kareena said: Its good that India and Pakistan are on the same side in Agent Vinod. This is nice and its a good thing.
Agent Vinod has a simple storyline in which an Indian agent gets killed abroad during an operation but before dying he sends a mysterious massage to the headquarters suggesting that something is happening. Nevertheless, the film is being hyped as a Desi Bond movie, as the audiences reckon Saif has copied James Bonds 007. Saif however doesnt see any reason of relating both movies.
That wouldnt be a clever idea, he quips, adding, Hes an original, and is sent out on a mission, using his training, strengths and personality to get out of trouble, eventually saving the day.
He doesnt even have a line like, The names Bond, James Bond. Our writers were clear that Agent Vinod didnt need gadgets or glib one-liners.
Agent Vinod is one of the most eagerly awaited films of this year because people are anxious to see Kareena and Saif together on the big screen.
