I thought Russia unofficially blocked weapons exports to Pakistan, due to India's insistence? (Recently changed though).

As for China, you can't expect Russia to side against China, we are their partners and the ones they go to when their relations with the West go downhill. We have a shared mutual interest in creating a new multi-polar world, rather than the current American hegemony, and we work together to achieve that goal.

Russia stays neutral in China-India conflicts, as they have all these years.

In the current uni-polar world, America calls the shots. Since they are the global hegemon.

In a multi-polar world, the BRICS will become powers in their own right, and become the new "poles" of world power.

This serves them better than simply being vassals of America. And gives them all expanded power and influence, which benefits them and us both.

Why become a vassal, when they can become a great power in their own right.

Not true. We genuinely want the emergence of a multi-polar world order. When there are multiple regional powers tending to their own neighborhood and preventing officious superpowers from overreaching into regions that have nothing to do with them, the world will be a fairer place. Only a white-slave would want the preservation of the current US-dominated order.
