After Home Minister Rajnath Singh asked Border Security forces (BSF) to give befitting reply to unprovoked firing from Pakistan along the Indo-Pak border,Indian troops resorted to precision firing in which 8 people including soldiers, LeT terrorists and civilians, have been killed in Pakistan and over two dozen injured in the firings that began on August 16 this year.
Pakistan deployed 12th mujahideen battalion along the border to target Indian posts and villages. Pakistan has increased its force along the border and special force personnel and 12th battalions ofthe Pakistan Army’s Northern Light Infantry(NLI) were deployed among them were many Mujaheddin and members of Pakistan's the Special Services Group (SSG).
Pakistan suffered more casualties in just 10 days of firing this year than was witnessed in 30 days of skirmishes last year in August.
Indian government gave free hand to indian forces to protect Indian bordrs
A total of 12 Indian soldiers were killed through 2013 by Pakistan forces. This year there has been only one casualty — of a BSF jawan — due to sniper firing a month ago.
"Ever since mid-August ceasefire violations, we have gone on complete offensive, firing both guns and area weapons. We are thrice in strength of Pakistan Rangers and thus have as many weapons. This has resulted in heavy casualties on the other side even though Pakistan Rangers are being supported by their Army. We will continue to retaliate fiercely until Pakistan stops firing," said a senior BSF officer.
Extending ceasefire violations to Samba district, Pakistani troops heavily shelled and fired upon 40 Border Out Posts
(BoPs) and 24 villages along the International Border in Jammu and Samba districts, leaving three persons injured.
This is the first time that Pakistani Rangers have extended the ceasefire violation to Samba district.
