After putting off US envoy, Pakistan hosts top Chinese official

Indians are stupid. What can US do in Afghanistan with out Pakistan? Their supply lines either air or ground are through Pakistan. The only problem is that the national embarrassment pretending to be the leadership in the US doesn't have the capacity to understand the situation.

that is actually a good suggestion. but even before that Pakistan should show that they have given up terrorism harbors - this can be done easily by just three simple steps:dismantle haqqani nw, jail hafees saeed and make nice with India.
Lol and why we are supposed to do that? Our major problem with USA is the fact that it is involving India in Afghanistan. And you are telling us that we should jail Hafiz Saeed Sahab and become nice with India and forget about Indian atrocities in Kashmir?
And regarding Haqqani network , we also can't dismantle our ties with them because they are our bridge to Taliban. And what current snerio states , they are winning in Afghanistan. So would it be wise for us to join the losing side of USA led Afghan government and give India another chance to build relationship with Taliban. Hell no!!!

Do you think that dumping US in favour of China will be beneficial for Pakistan ?

If US is in damage control mode then shouldn't Pakistan give US a second chance and mend the ties ?

Has China ever financially helped any nation in the past ?
Yes i Do. What you must understand is that China and Pakistan work on a different frequency. Whether China has helped anyone in the past is a moot point because what is between China and Pakistan is an altogether different story. Read any western opinion, and they all agree on a single point that Pakistan is not dependent on US because China is filling in the vacuum. As for the 2nd chance dont you think we are well past that point specially after Trump's recent remarks?

your opinion sounds justifying the present situation and it also negates the possibility of change in attitude of Pakistan policies.

what is exactly US demanding ? only to be fair in WOT and nothing else. Can't Pakistan do that ? If Pakistan is sincere then she can always show that to the world by her actions.

If China is on board with you that doesn't mean that situation will remain the same for long term. China will be spending $ 50 Billion in next 20 years. For China $50 Billion is just a quarter of its yearly defence budget. So you are getting hardly 1 or 2 percent of Chinese yearly defence budget that too as a loan or Pak Govt. guranteed returns on investments by private players. That too is for a stategic defence route which China may or may not use in future.

While remaining in US camp may be much more advantageous for your country in economic and defence terms. Be it the status of NATO ally or access to western markets. otherwise also a soverign country like Pakistan would not be able to adjust with the diktats of Chinese rulers moreover Islamic Pakistan would feel uncomfortable with Chinese no religion policies in longer run

Why can't you understand what Pakistan wants. It want's you to get the hell out of Afghanistan so that Terrorist bought and trained by you cannot infiltrate in Pakistan and damage us. It is as simple as that. Similarly USA should exit Afghanistan because they don't want USA to stay and cause destruction of Afghanistan. And sorry to say what kind of economic assistance. Just because of US based policies our Economic situation grows worse and we have to rely every now and then on WB. So please keep these suggestions to yourself. We should stay away from US and most importantly NATO Ally block.

This is where your argument is flawed. US is not demanding us to be fair as you so casually put, they are asking us to take all the blame for their failures. After losing 70,000 men and over 100 billion loss to economy, What more do you expect out of Pakistan when you have nothing to show on your side of the border. 40% of the territory is under Taliban rule.

50 billion is the start, not the end. CPEC is just the tip of the iceberg. If this project reaches to its full potential, 50 billion will look like pocket change.

I have just mentioned above the loss that Pakistan has suffered both in terms of human as well as financial just being part of the US camp. This started all the way back when we first became partner in Afghan war and to this day we are suffering the brunt of that decision and ungrateful ally who is looking to put all its failures on Pakistan. Thanks but no thanks. Pakistan is better off without the US.

@IceCold , @Dr Shaheryar

In world politics there are no permanent friends or foes. It is your country's interests which are paramount. Rubbing Trump the wrong way may not work in your country's best interest. If your foreign ministry can cultivate good relations with China, Russia and US simultaneously then many of your country's problems will be solved and ordinary citizen will benefit from it.

Next time you read the articles, try to read it not upside down.
On the contrary, I think articles should ALWAYS be read (or at least digested) "upside down": the facts first, their context, and only then the introductory paragraph. Otherwise you're putting yourself at the mercy of the author's (or headline writer's) biases.

Don't let Trump's speech fool you. He knows US needs Pakistan to be in Afghanistan. Why can't people see he's trying to negotiate a deal. The question is: what will Pakistan do?

You succinctly explained why Pakistan is considered a terrorist haven.
