After Mexico, India second largest source of migrants: report

.
I am asking for any census or government data not random claim by minister. As most of the BJP leader claim 20 million are illegal migrants. But that can not be a legitimate claim to be trusted other then any official document.

What was the source of that minister's claim??

Let me tell you buddy!!!

In 1947 and even in 1980s, Telugu was the second most spoken language in India and Bengali was at third Place. Now your illegal immigrants have made Bengali second most spoken language in India replacing Telugu at third rank and percentage of Muslims in Eastern and North-Eastern Indian states had increased rapidly. If you want to verify it, read all the census Data in India from 1947-2011

1. Also, Muslims are mostly against family planning you have just 20% literacy in 1971 and had population more that that of Pakistan, how come you were able to create a gap of 25 millions in just 40 years. Sounds really astonishing, that a country with 80% illiterates will go for successful family planning with stubborn religious dogma against family planning.

. .
Then when BJP will come to power and any minister just make a claim their are 30 million illegal migrants are there then you are asking me to believe that.

I just asked what are the source or government documents. If your government really has any documents why they are not publishing it.

By the way that 10 million including all not just Bangladeshi migrant alone. So still it makes 20 million illegal migrant story invalid.

N that 10 million number also includes the descendent of he migrants. N why you are just bypassing the question how come those who born and brought up in India and living there for decades is illegal migrants still??

Cause in India just being born here doesn't give you citizenship. That has been the law since late 80'2 early 90's.

Here's another Government document.

In February 2001, the Government of India published a report on Reforming the National Security System

Illegal immigration from across our borders has continued unabated for over five decades. We have yet to fully wake up to the implications of the unchecked immigration for the national security. Today, we have about 15 million Bangladeshis, 2.2 million Nepalese, 70,000 Sri Lankan Tamils and about 1 lakh (100,000) Tibetan migrants living in India.

Border Management, Chapter 5, Report of the Group of Ministers on National Security, Government of India, February 2001, pg. 60.

You are the one who was harping on about Government claims, official claim and when I show you one its not trustworthy:woot:

. . .
I don't undertsand you just said you can't tryst the words and figures of Indian Ministers and Government. Why are taking this figure from PEW Research as the ultimate truth, when infact PEW Research got their data from 2001 Indian Government Census:woot:

Make up your mind will ya!

Because your own minister ate his data. See the fol, lowing report itself and how that minister rubbished his data itself.

Minister eats his figures

The Telegraph - Calcutta : Nation

ALOKE TIKKU

New Delhi, July 23: The Union home ministry has rubbished its own statistics of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam and Bengal.

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi had earlier protested to Manmohan Singh about the home ministry presenting inflated figures of Bangladeshi immigrants in his state. This had prompted the Prime Minister to indicate he would have the ministry take a relook at the statistics.

Today, minister of state for home Sriprakash Jaiswal said in a statement tabled in the Rajya Sabha that his ministry’s statistics for Assam and Bengal were unreliable and based on hearsay.

He was referring to figures he had tabled in the upper House that said Assam was home to an estimated 50 lakh illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Bengal another 57 lakh. The figures were based on estimates made by the Group of Ministers on security headed by former deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani.

Jaiswal’s “correction” of his reply to Parliament last week, however, did not question the credibility of statistics relating to other states.

Like Delhi, for instance, which has an estimated 3.75 lakh illegal Bangladeshi immigrants; Nagaland 59,500; Tripura 3.25 lakh, Meghalaya and Orissa 30,000 each, Bihar 4.79 lakh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands 3,000.

Jaiswal’s reply had put the number of Bangladeshi immigrants in India in December 2001 at 1.2 crore.

The minister of state today suggested he had given the figures without noticing a clarificatory note from the field organisation (intelligence agencies).

He set out to trash his ministry’s figures, claiming that this “clarificatory note” made it clear that the reported figures “were not based on any comprehensive or sample study but were based on hearsay and that too from interested parties”.

Please you Indian dont lie more. As you Indians are well known for lie and creating hoax. So, give it up.

Now I hope you understood me why I said, no Indian minister's statement is credible!!!

See post number 97 how your own minister junked his own data!!!

There you go. That myth has been made by some BJP leader and ministers based on heresy which was even admitted by the minister itself.

Now have you accept that you have been debunked or want to argue more??

SAD PART IS THAT THE REPORT WHICH WAS BASED ON HERESY BASED ON SOME INTERESTED GROUP WHICH WAS EVEN CLARIFIED BY THE MINISTER IS STILL ALIVE AMONG SOME RADICAL HINDU GROUPS.

Go easy with the colors mate! Can't you debate like a normal person?

Its vote bank politics. Read the MIT paper I linked you to, very detailed analysis. And yes the Author is Indian, who do you expect to research on these issues anyways? Americans? Apart from that also linked you to the research paper of a Bangladeshis PhD candidate from Monash Uni. Both have estimates of around 15-20 Millions.

Here's more excerpts from the report.

The “estimated” number of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants in India now stands anywhere between 15 million to 20 million, with some suggesting that the number could be as high as 20 million. Just how flawed and misleading such numbers could be can be gauged by the following extract of a classified file of one intelligence agency:

The estimate by the BSF that only 10 lakh (1 million) Bangladesh nationals had migrated clandestinely into India during 1981-91 period was unrealistically low. The MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) paper had put the figure at around 66 lakh (6.6 million), basing their assessment on the statistics provided by the BSF. It was pointed out that a comprehensive analysis of the statistics of the latest census held in both countries in 1991 clearly established that the magnitude of infiltration was much more serious.4

Thats 6.6 Million in just between 1981-91! BJP led government published their findings based on these sorta classified reports, Congress doesn't want to cause of vote bank politics.

People on this forum go on about illegal migrants cause they see them everyday and everywhere. I don't even live in India, and when I go back to my hometown of Varanasi I bump into Bangladeshis.

Assam has only 26490 illegal migrants clarified by your minister alone. Even if we take your claim all of them are illegal migrants but still it does not proof your claim that illegal migrants from Bangladesh changed your demography.

Assam has only 26,490 foreigners : Centre
From Our Staff Correspondent
NEW DELHI, July 6 – It's official. The highest number of foreigners is staying in Assam but hold your breath its only 26,490 of them. That's the official figure of number of foreigners living in Assam. Gone is the estimate that most of 1.20 crore illegal migrants were living in Assam. That was NDA's estimate. According to the Minister of State for Home, Sriprakash Jaiswal there are about 46,818 foreigners reportedly living illegally in India as on December 2002. The highest number of foreigners staying illegally is in Assam followed by 11,122 in West Bengal and 2,405 living in Rajasthan. Section 3(2) (C) of the Foreigners Act 1946 empowers the Government of India to detect and deport foreign nationals staying in India unauthorisedly. This power has been delegated under Section 12 of the Act to the State Governments for the purpose of execution, he informed.

So 46818 illegal foreigner turned into 20 million illegal Bangladeshi migrants...

The 1st video was complete bs. But for the second one the 1st person who was saying that he went to India for cheap patrol is a blunt lair and probably an Indian itself went to Bangladesh for cheap patrol as patrol is cheap in Bangladesh. But thanks to the video for exposing how muslims are targeted in Assam. Most of the people went there at best to meet their relatives not for permanent stay as Assam is much poorer and backword state then Bangladesh.
