so what these dams doing in metro train project thread are you planning to store water of flooded stations now ?

.
but sadly punjab's computerization of land records cant be completed on record time like metros lol :D and about sasti roti scheme my friend this concept was first introduced by PTI back in 2008 2009 in lahore :sarcastic:

As you may know that Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaaf in Lahore has launched a ‘Sasta’ Tandoor on Aug 27 2008 in the congested run-down locality of Dubanpura. This is to help the common man who is unable to feed his/her family and who does not resort to begging. This is especially important during the month of Ramadan.

PTI launches a ‘Sasta Tandoor’

and about motorway project i dont know why you bring this federal level project for comparison with provincial govt

Shahbaz is talking about model police in punjab since 2008 but sadly we havent seen any improvement in punjab police .. providing expensive bikes to punjab police naming them dolphins will not going to change fate of punjab police see in kpk with in year KPK police is leading with example :enjoy: now compare shity punjab police with kpk police

Those pathetic work was done by NLC.... we will see how NLC do on Bab-e-Peshawar

+ all the leakage and flooding caused is now been taking care of as the contractors are repairing it from their own pocket....

And yeah about the Land record please compare the size of the Province with the KP... and not all Mountain are Public Property

I am VERY impressed with your post, intellect and comprehension. One of the VERY few posts on here that I've built admiration for. And no, its not because it has NS in it. It's because the post above is speaking the truth and it has a LOT of Wisdom for Pakistan and Pakistanis, should they care to learn from it.

In the context of Pakistan, aka a poor country, what has the Hawkish Generals and aggressive leaders have provided the country in 70 years? The answer is, the country got divided in half, the economy was near collapse and bankrupt just three years ago, the public welfare wasn't paid attention to, no one thought about growing population, need for more electricity and infrastructure, education, flood prevention, roads, highways, mass transit and a stronger, modern and better defense.
Who has actually done stuff that's visible to human eye, the last time and this time? People who are in the power.

When you don't have food to eat in your own house, how can you go and offer food to others? You, yourself have to be strong before making a stand, offering help, support or threatening of an consequences to others. You do not get there with simple aggressiveness, you actually get there with calm head, focused on an agenda and get it done. Once the economic strength comes, the remainder will automatically come.

Take a look at India, these guys till 2010 in any work place was SO humble and down to earth. And now, take a look at their soup-o-powa attitude just on this site. And its the same everywhere else. You can't blame them. They were heads down for two decades and built a huge economy out of it, that now has serious influence on the US. So similarly, this isn't a time for Pakistan to have people who show punches on TV, its time for humble, focused and less aggressive people who have expertise in growing businesses and economy. Not threatening war with a 4 times larger enemy that you can't compete with soldier to soldier, in quantity or in quality. Even the COAS is also humble, both the PM and the COAS are very focused on building a better Pakistan and that's the way to do it. Between both the shariffs, I give them both two thumbs up  .
The entire world knows it that if Pakistan is attacked, like any other country, she'll defend herself to teeth and that can get very ugly for any invading country. So why keep the macho-man talk going, when you can lay low and get more business, grow your middle class and become a stronger economy, resulting in happy and financially stable population and much stronger defense system, with state of the art weapons system and no concerns about sanctions?

Here is when you know someone is doing work, when others (in this case Bloomberg) recognizes this:

Bombs, Protests, Blackouts Fail to Cripple Pakistan Economy - Bloomberg Business

Pakistan Economy: Remittances inflows increased to record USD18.5bn in FY15 - By Taurus Research

Pakistan Economy: Improving macros justifying DR cut! - By BMA Research

Thank you very much for the kind words and detailed manner with which you have complemented it all. I completely agree with your thoughts. I have had the pleasure of reading your posts for a while and found them to be very enlightening myself so you can understand how much it means to me that this appreciation has come from you.

As you so eloquently explained, belligerence sells easy but its the economy and human capital of any nation where her true strength lies. It walks hand in hand with being humble, dedicated and working hard in silence. I think ultimately, true progress of any nation depends upon how good a life someone living in remotest corner of state has. The quality of education, health care and amount of opportunities he has access to. It is to this end, we should all commit ourselves to exert all energies and resources.

On a lighter note, i just realized i should have posted my previous post in another thread where it was more on-topic, i must have mixed it all as i had a dozen tabs opened up at that time. So i request everyone to please take it with a lenient heart.

Seriously WTF. I am from Pindi and Shahbaz Sharif sab we do NOT need a phuking metro train right now. Extend the metro bus network. For people from other cities, the current metro bus covers just the Murree road. Rest of Pindi, which is like 80%, is left at the mercy of suzukis, wagons and qingqis. And NO we do not want elevated tracks either. Just a dedicated on ground, no frills, no fancy stations metro bus network which runs on time and covers most of Pindi. For God's sake have some mercy on future generations and stop building imported shit on borrowed money.
Yeah buses are cheaper. We can't afford rail system, not in current security situation. Also trains will always get cheaper as technology progress. Perhaps add regular buses instead of metro buses, those that share road with public.

Oh and we can't build without borrowed money sadly.

Oh and we can't build without borrowed money sadly.

I know and I don't have any problems with borrowing money for business. My problem is the cost/benefit analysis here, mainly the fact that we don't need shiny metro trains and PMLN is just doing it to win votes, instead of solving problems. Secondly, its OK if we are borrowing money to get expensive things but at least try to build them locally. I know we don't have the technology, but at least start something.

Sadly it's not limited to Pakistan and you're right it's to win votes, hint completion date.

I took a course here in Canada with regards to urban planning etc. And even here the concern is, govt likes to waste money on trains which is far more expensive than standard buses. So it isn't just Sharif brothers, it's all over world.

I agree with more buses being made, those that share the road with general users. Also oil is predicted not to rise over $100 till 2020, so buses will be very profitable till then and then after 7-10 years go electric trains when we have enough electricity. This is called planning.

Sadly, most of pollution in Pakistan aren't educated like us.
