No. Just because in eyes of US people Pakistan is where OBL was found and back stabbed US, Indians may distance themselves from Pakistanis.
Tell me one thing, do you think a middle class Indian will go through constant harassment just because he is mistaken as a Pakistani, what will he do ?
Don't give a moral answer, give a practical one. Survival instinct will force him to say that He is not a Pakistani.
If US is Islamophobic, and people are targeting and harassing Muslims, do you think a practical person will take a moral high ground or follow his/her survival instinct to differentiate himself from Muslims.
Problem is you are not looking at what happens when someone is at gun-point or facing discrimination. They won't preach Love All, Respect all at that time. They will simply try to clear the confusion.
Agreed.
But:
First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.
