What's new

After DDR4 graphics and everything will integrate

.
If you live in mumbai you can get under one year used GTX 970 for @16000-18000 now.
As people will migrate to pascal/polaris there will be some easy picks to grab.ASUS Strix GTX 970 is very good from my personal use. I was looking for SLi but gave up the idea, probably will see 980 Ti replacement as potential successor in my system.

However if you can go for 980 Ti (btw i don't see point of buying this card now)now that will be overkill for 1080p or just stick what you have like me & Get 980 Ti replacement (they say pascal = 10x Maxwell)

However mainly everything depend upon your requirement if you want it now then get it now as new GPUs will keep coming pascal, polaris, volta................etc. (Money making Process you Know)

I was thinking of multiple options. Buy the Zotac for now, sell it and replace it with the Pascal when that comes out. Or buy the Strix for now, overclock it to 1400MHz and SLI when it gets cheaper it for future compatibility, that will delay the Pascal purchase.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea which will be cheaper. I actually wouldn't mind getting the Zotac SLI if that's enough. But I don't wanna get stuck with something that gets bottlenecked by the 3.5GB RAM in the near future.

The Zotac Amp Extreme looks good too.

The HTC Vive needs much more than its recommended GTX 970 to maintain 90 FPS at 1200p after a few months.

Pre-order on MD Computers == Not in Stock

There will not be much overclocking difference in Cards of different manufacturer give or take 20-30 Mhz , so better get the brand you trust.

Hell, this one appears worth the price.

GIGABYTE GRAPHICS CARD GTX 970 4GB DDR5 G1 GAMMING (N970G1 GAMING 4GD)

It's already boosted to 1354MHz. But it has to be pre-ordered which sucks.

If I go for the Asus, I'll OC and stick with it for sometime. At least for a year. My friend's giving me his entire steam account packed with games. So I'm gonna be busy.

I would recommend you wait for the Pascal. It's a June release, so the India release should be about that time. The high end version of Pascal could be cheaper than the 980TI and still blow it out of the water. I will probably wait for the Enthusiast version of Pascal. That will give me over 1 year with the Asus easy.

If i had the cash flow I would go for

It sounds post-apocalyptic but when it happens everything will melt into one big DDR5 , APU , integrated graphics thing you can only play assasins and hitman on , the average jow will only be able to buy AMD , for obvious reasons
I am getting worried more about denuvo. Pirated gaming as we know it seems to be coming to a grinding halt. So many good titles are part of Denuvo despite the glitches and problems. Every single good game is on denuvo including fifa 16, ROTTR, Just cause 3 and Hitman-even Far Cry Primal . I can't afford a single one of these games. Piracy evened the game. Now... well trouble for the poor and easy times for the rich.

They put a 6700 K OC it to 4.2 Ghz & 2 x GTX980 M what a waste.
Even at stock speed 6700 K is more than enough for 980Ms

Don't Worry even if you buy this, it will not come near to 2000$ desktop build anyway. Also
1. It will be power hungry.
2.980M s are not upto the mark (GTX 970 beats them in performance)
3. As you know 2 cards in SLI =/= 2x performance means single 980 Ti beats them both.
4. Limited overclocking potential (Due to inadequate cooling)
5. Still offer it with mechanical drive (Saw it they offer Samsung 850 Pro SSD for 440$ more)

DON'T WANT WHAT YOU CAN"T GET WANT WHAT YOU CAN GET
else you will miss things in your life that you could have got.

Also you can find a bit slower GTX 960 for 13-15K @ OLX at almost new condition
As you said you tight on budget go for Zotac they are cheaper with marginal difference in cooling or performance.
