I understand where you are trying to come from and in a way I totaly agree with you, why kill birds etc when food is available from farming etc, BUT

it's acceptable to hunt the 'allowed' animals ONLY if you are going to eat them....to the best of my knowedge that is....

back in childhood i shot few birds and left them...I still regret doing that...i think when skeets are available, then no point practicing your ai on masoom little birds....who could be flying back to feed their little ones.
