African students hospitalized in roving mob attacks in India

New Delhi (CNN)Africans living in northern India are locking themselves indoors in terror after a spate of mob attacks left several hospitalized.

Multiple attacks on Kenyan and Nigerian students have been reported this week in Greater Noida, 18 miles southeast of the capital New Delhi.

Nine Nigerians were attacked, including five who were wounded and two who were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries, said Abike Dabiri, Nigeria's special assistant on foreign affairs and diaspora.

Additionally, a Kenyan woman in her twenties was admitted to hospital Wednesday after she was attacked while getting out of a cab, according to Dharmendra Singh, a senior police superintendent in Noida.

The woman was released from hospital the same day.

Mob attacks

Police said the violence began over the weekend, following the death of a teenager in an alleged drug overdose.

His family filed a police report against five local Nigerian men, who have since been detained on suspicion of drug peddling, abduction and murder, police said.

A postmortem, however, did not confirm the theory of a drug overdose and the men were later released.

Following their arrest, African students gathered to peacefully demonstrate for their release, said Ezeugo Nnamdi Lawrence, university coordinator with the Association of African Students in India (AASI).

On Monday, a counterprotest by Indians turned violent. Police officer Amir Dikshit said about 500 to 600 people attacked two students in a shopping mall in Noida.

As though if there were any Africans in any significant prevalence in Dhaka (which would be quite stupid tbh given Dhaka ranks below most African cities in liveability)...there would be 0 violent incidents based there regarding them.

Guy is probably so butthurt at India inherently because pretty much anyone even with an iota of BD gene is so far lacking in the "importance" department....and thus this guy has to live with this terrible reality:

So whats the answer? Post a cheap post in an India = bad thread while hoping everyone doesn't realise just how apples and oranges the situation is regarding his own background in the first place. Hypocrite!

If there was a thread about discrimination in Bangladesh, I would condemn the events in place. But you've chose to completely ignore the event, and then make a strangely eugenics sounding gene comment in a thread about a racist attack. I'll say it now, the situation for Biharis and Chittagong Hill Tract people in Bangladesh is far from ideal and we should do a lot to bring them more into society.

Already replied and condemned in another thread (there are many out there given its a bash-India moment so its good currency here).

I'm just focusing on establishing hypocrisy now. I expect better from BD people (compared to other South Asia neighbours to India) given what they have come from, what they still have going on etc... yet you will notice who brings in "genes" into the conversation in the first place....so he will get a reality check on that as required.

More level headed and mature BD/BD origin people can of course interact better like you have just done.....acknowledging the root of problem exists across the whole area (and to larger extent the world)....and of course will probably be more intense as a result in urban cities (given the population densities in question). Its why I have no issue with what @HeinzG said either. He is at least honest in saying it affects whole region. But those that use it as cheap way to say India is magnitudes different (without realising the base situation in India is also magnitudes different w.r.t immigrants in cities by raw numbers etc) and is some special case....well the red-pill will be out in force for them.

Not just genes, the colour of the skin is also mentioned.
these same posters forget that BD muslims are significantly of darker colour than the Punjabi counter parts. Perhaps one of the main reasons of their contempt & the eventual split into BD.

This colour/race prejudice plays all over the world in different shades and with different impact.

I have hope because I have seen many barriers broken in the decade I have been travelling all over the world.
