Afghans Have to Take Care of Their Country: Trump

I cannot deny or run from Afghanistan it is my back yard you are correct. There is something you are forgetting on 9th September my back yard visited Manhattan & that is why USA came here.
Your mistake was to bring India into our back yard That is why Afghanistan has been a failure for you. Just a simple question what was the need of India in Afghanistan? What benefit did India ever gave USA in Afghanistan & who was the idiot that made this US policy?
it is my heartfelt wish the Indians send troops to Afghanistan. go and help your friends

I don`t think so. They are only pulling out their military and the business will keep functioning.

Yes we failed, not militarily but we failed at nation building and for the first time in our history. (The jury is still out on Iraq)

I looked at a majority of the US military accounts during the course of the US misadventure in Afghanistan. Without reservations, the US military achieved overwhelming superiority in almost every military engagement.
While the US has achieved its principal objective of ensuring that the territory of Afghanistan will not be used against the US. It has NOT secured that objective for the infinite future by failing to turn Afghanistan into a South Korea.

Fundamentally the people of Afghanistan refuse to join the 21st century, fiercely independent, rigidly clinging to their tribal ethos and ancient traditions. No force on earth can compel the people of Afghanistan to change.

Yes we failed, and we failed because we tried to force the people of Afghanistan into our paradigm.

We did not bring India into Afghanistan, like many other nations they came in to provide humanitarian assistance.
But unlike other nations India had ulterior motives.

Some users here are like children that never grew up... I mean what do you expect of a country that was invaded by two superpowers for the last 40 years... Rose flower gardens and golden marbled streets with gold on every corner?

Afghanistan doesn't exist outside of Kabul. I think the smartest move is to divvy up Afghanistan between Iran, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

As if we will allow that... Any nation that tries we will bog them down in endless guerrilla wars draining their resources and we will have enough sponsors to carry that will through.

My friend you still want to wear a veil? I can give you statement from US President where he openly says that USA is not planing to do nation building in Afghanistan so how can you fail in something you never planed to do? You failed politically in Afghanistan. India can never come in Afghanistan on it's on. You are a PDF TT not a new member to know this. You have made mistakes at least recognize them. Bringing India to this equation is what got you out. It is not just Pakistani back yard but Chinese Russian Iranian as well.
For Pakistan, Indian aligned govt in Afghanistan is like Cuban missile crisis for USA. So stop deflecting & start addressing the problem which happened cause of wrong policy of few USA decision makers & advisors. You can blame Afghanistan on Lobby groups used by India. USA wanted to complement India for standing up against China but it lost Pakistan in the process & India has failed to deliver any thing for USA regarding China. India is all talk when it comes to China. US policy was wrong of giving India free hand to use proxy from Afghanistan to effect BRI in Pakistan. This all resulted in the statement we heard today.

Ah! a rare admission most often Pakistani's claim they fought the Soviet Union in Afghanistan at the behest of the US. Never acknowledging that a pro India Dr Najibullah government in Afghanistan was an existential threat to Pakistan. Well done, please rinse and repeat for WOT.

When will Pakistan gain national consensus on a definition of 'best interests'? Is Pakistan also a mess of competing aspirations?

Well Obama and his predecessor Bush Jr supported efforts and massive investments towards nation building.

Nation-building in Afghanistan reached its zenith, in terms of funding and attention, toward the end of the Bush Administration’s second term in ofice, but it was a stated objective much earlier than this. Bush himself, who had derided the concept during his Presidential campaign, came to accept it as a part of the mission in Afghanistan from April 2002 onward

lol, i must say trump has disappointed a lot of folks both to our east & west!

. . .
Why not divide thia country amoung countries by ethnicities. Why is world forcing them to live together if they hate each other so much and their is no central power to hold them together?

Absolutely agreed. The country needs to be divided. Something out of the box needs to be done since everything else has failed. Dividing might be the solution.
