Plot to kill Rabbani hatched in Quetta: Karzai
On Friday, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai [ Images ] claimed that former president Burhanuddin Rabbani's killing was plotted in the Pakistani city of Quetta.

During an interview with a private Afghan television channel, Karzai said that initial investigations into the assassination Rabbani have pointed out that individuals from Quetta were behind the killing and that a fact-finding delegation will travel to Pakistan soon to investigate the case.

"The findings of our national security agencies reveal that the those behind the killing are in Quetta. If Islamabad [ Images ] does not cooperate we have no other option but to refer the case to the US for investigations," Karzai added.

The Afghan government has set up an investigation commission to investigate the killing of Rabbani. Afghanistan's defence and interior ministers, the chief of national directorate of security and the attorney general office are members of the commission.

Karzai indirectly warned Pakistan and said, "Initial reports show some foreign hand is involved. But if the Taliban [ Images ] is behind this killing then there is no need continue the peace negotiations with them."

"The Taliban killed our men in the battlefield but still the peace process was kept going. They even killed my brother (Ahmed Wali Karzai). But in case of Rabbani, they first took responsibility for the assassination and then retracted," he said.

"If they call themselves messengers of peace and then kill the person, who is leading peace process on behalf of the government how can they (Taliban) claim they want peace in Afghanistan? If really the Taliban have killed him, then who are we reconciling with? If Taliban is not behind we should trace the actual killer," Karzai added.

What can Karzai do

So you wanna fight Afghan,, Indians, NATO-USA and what not..............its not a good strategy.

1.) Always keep in mind you can't divide your forced in 3 areas simultaneously:

a. At Indian border

b. Afghan Border

c. Internal was / sindh/ baluchistan etc. etc.

2.) No matter how hard ur forces try they seal Afghan -pakistan border for various reasons.

And Afghan can make havoc in short they can do everything that ISI can do in Afghanistan.

Try to make friends instead of enemies.

No, but Pakistan can missile the **** out of the US's bases in Afghanistan, then missile the one's in arab countries. Pretty simple. No more US. Then we can drop a few nukes on the US. War isn't as simple as it seems on paper.

Once more the donkey of Kabul eats a mouth full of naswar and lets one rip ... out of his mouth.
This bastard kanjarzai killed Rabbani himself and NATO was in on it , that the real truth , he was part of the plot and he specially called back rabbani who was out of the coutry just before he was killed , Prof Rabbani was not Pakistan's enemy , he always spoke of re-conciliation and brotherly relations
I recall that in 2001 after the yanks with the help of the NA were rampaging though afghanistan , its was Prof . Rabbani who spoke of re-concilation with Pakistan and no sooner he had said this he was removed from the scene
He was not an enemy of Pakistan and we condemn the murder of Prof. Rabbani in the strongest terms it’s this bastard kanjarzai that from time to time eats a mouth full of naswar and comes up with outlandish accusations against Pakistan (all fed to him by India and other sh!it bags on whose shoulders this dirty SOB has been standing since 2001! )

Afghanistan kills trilateral peace talks
KABUL (Agencies) - Afghanistan announced that it was delaying efforts to work with Pakistan and the US on getting the Taliban to negotiate for peace, cancelling a scheduled meeting in Kabul on Oct 8 with US and Pakistani officials.
Afghanistan changed course after Kabul’s top peace negotiator, former Afghan president Burhanuddin Rabbani, was assassinated last week, believing that Pakistani elements may have collaborated with Taliban in plotting his murder. “From now on Afghanistan will follow a ‘trust but verify’ approach toward Pakistan, in particular with regard to our peace efforts,” said deputy national-security adviser Shaida Mohammad Abdali.
Suspending the meetings will delay US attempts to bring leaders in the region to the negotiating table in its effort to successfully withdraw most coalition military forces by 2014.
Afghan president and other senior leaders had announced Thursday that they were rethinking the country’s relationship with Pakistan and its negotiations with Taliban because talks had yielded so little. As a result, the leaders said, they were considering to work closely with the US, Europe and India to plan the country’s future. The shift in policies emerged in a statement released by the presidential palace after a meeting of senior government officials, including the two VPs, the national security adviser and several former military commanders.

Karzai abandons peace talks with the Taliban

President Karzai says peace can only be achieved by talks with Pakistan

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said his government will no longer hold peace talks with the Taliban.

He said the killing of Burhanuddin Rabbani had convinced him to focus on dialogue with Pakistan.

Former Afghan President Rabbani was negotiating with the Taliban but was killed by a suicide bomber purporting to be a Taliban peace emissary.

US President Barack Obama has renewed calls for Pakistani action against militants of the Haqqani network.

Mr Karzai, speaking to a group of religious leaders, said there were no partners for dialogue among the Taliban. It was not possible to find the Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, he added.

"Where is he? We cannot find the Taliban Council. Where is it?" he said.

"A messenger comes disguised as a Taliban Council member and kills, and they neither confirm nor reject it. Therefore, we cannot talk to anyone but to Pakistan," Mr Karzai told the meeting.

"Who is the other side in the peace process? I do not have any other answer but to say Pakistan is the other side in the peace talks with us."

A statement by members of the nationwide council of religious scholars praised Rabbani's efforts to bring peace to the country, and condemned his killing in the strongest terms.

Afghans give Pakistan evidence in Rabbani killing

KABUL: Afghanistan’s intelligence service says it has handed Pakistani authorities evidence showing former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani’s assassination was planned in Pakistan.

Lutifullah Mashal, a spokesman for the Afghan intelligence service, says the plot originated near Quetta.

Mashal told reporters on Saturday that investigators provided addresses, photos and maps to the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.

Rabbani was trying to broker peace with the Taliban when he was killed by a suicide bomber.

At the UN last week, Afghan officials said the killing was plotted for four months by the Afghan Taliban’s governing council, the Quetta Shura.

The Taliban have not claimed responsibility for Rabbani’s death.
