Afghanistan can accept the Taliban, but not recognise the Durand Line?

The author is right and no one is disputing that. The point is who is in charge of Afghanistan? Will this power accept these suggestions? The answer to this question is no secret to anyone.

Why not pakistan start convincing Ashraf Ghani about durand line. When he could have accepted taliban for the peace he can also accept durand line as well for long lasting peace. First we should do our lobby and then wait for the result.

pakistan should try a settlement of negociation first then take a 2nd step (durand line). Dont be hasty. Well i have doubt that pakistan can push afghan taliban on negociation table because pakistan already lost a control over afghan taliban.

The vast majority recognizes the Durand Line as an official border. There is nothing to settle or to talk about here. The reality is that Afghans have hated and despised Pakistan ever since its creation. The Afghans have a special hate relationship with Pakistan. That is no secret to us.

Yes, we don't control the Taliban. The Americans and Afghans keep claiming that we do. In reality we don't and we never have.

The Afghans are just making things worse for themselves. The longer the country remains unstable it creates a vacuum of uncertainty in the region which has an impact on the larger global community.

But if you go to google maps, the Durand Line is recognized as a legal border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

It means that Afghanistan is wrong.

Durand Line is not disputed territory according to the United Nations.

Due to stupidity of our people and brotherly thought process... an issue that should have been buried dusted and forgotten lives on and fools in govt and establishment is willfully ignoring it

its a standard policy when countries make absurd claims...every country use it..

this idea of shrugging off afghan quiet claims can be dangerous in the future, we need to clean this mess now..

india even tried to use on a well known disputed area like kashmir but didnt work as its a disputed terrorty accepted in the past even by india

They dont accept the Durand line because Pakistani leadership is weak. Nobody is going to respect you till you show them who's incharge. We cant even send the fucking Afghans back, forget about anything else.
