Afghan war can end in few weeks if Pakistan denies safe heaven to Taliban: U.S. senator

You understand why USA is not interested to see a modern developed and strong Pakistan.
I simply don't.
I think you give too much importance to what usa thinks .
We deals with them all the time. They are like busy with the world .
If they create obstacles in your path learn to overcome them . That's y how you do things . Create common points and work on them an distract them . That's diplomacy .

.
i think Pakistan is not present in iraq,Syria,Libya and Yemen but we all know war in these regions not ending in few days and are continuing at present so this is unrealistic claim with full of propaganda

. . .
The Americans are still very frustrated. After Imran Khan's trip to the US the Americans were expecting things to normalise pretty quickly. That just hasn't happened. Mistrust is still high.

. . .
The timing of this statement is interesting.

The statement is correct, but the Indian media, of course, twists it to make it work against us.
It comes right after the in-depth special reports of how the US is failing in Afghanistan and lied about it.

Pentagon needs some saving of face. In comes Pakistan. The deal has been in the works for a while. We are left to negotiate and finalize. So an ambiguous pubic statement hastily released informing the public the Pakistan is a big stakeholder in this. This puts pressure on us to close the deal quickly.

If the deal falls through, expect statements how it was all Pakistan's fault.
If the deal goes through, how Pakistan has always been a reliable ally.

Lindsey Graham said, in a televised interview, that the United States should start negotiating with Pakistan instead to get as much ‘leverage’ on the Taliban as possible
The war in Afghanistan would end in few weeks if Pakistan denied the Taliban safe haven in its territory, a top U.S. Senator said. Senator Lindsey Graham said the United States should negotiate with Pakistan instead of the Taliban to see an end to the war in Afghanistan.

“As to negotiating with the Taliban, I think we got this wrong. I think what we should do is start negotiating with Pakistan. If Pakistan denied the Taliban safe haven in Pakistan, the war in Afghanistan would end in a matter of weeks,” Graham said in an interview to Fox News on Monday.

Talks with Taliban resume
Washington resumed talks with the Taliban in Qatar on Saturday, three months after President Donald Trump had abruptly halted diplomatic efforts that could end America’s longest war. Mr. Trump called the year-long effort “dead” and withdrew an invitation to the insurgents to join secret talks at his U.S. retreat at Camp David after the killing of an American soldier.

Mr. Graham also said that he wants to change the behaviour of Pakistan. “So, I want to try to get Pakistan to change their behaviour through a free trade agreement tied to security performances, then talk to the Taliban. I want as much leverage over the Taliban as possible to end this war,” he added.

Why do they need safe havens in Pakistan when more than 50% of Afghanistan is already in their control.
