GHALANAI: A major and a havaldar were injured when a mortar shell fired from across the Afghan border hit their checkpost in Baizai tehsil of Mohmand tribal region on Saturday.

Sources said that at least nine shells were fired on the Ziarat checkpost at around 4.30pm.

An official identified the injured as Major Farrukh and Havaldar Imran Khan and said they had been taken to Peshawar by a helicopter.

The Pakistan Army targeted suspected locations with mortars, the sources said.

The incident follows the death of a security man in an IED (improvised explosive device) blast in Mohmand tribal region on Friday.

Political authorities accompanied by security forces and elders demolished 12 houses and 10 shops of suspected militants and their facilitators in Dawezai area of Pandiali tehsil on Saturday.

Actually, we need some UCAV's permanently positioned there and some should almost always be in the air to monitor, and where necessary to take out hostiles in the area.

Nothing .. In response PA fired mortars from the area they received fire!


In the past we have conducted operations inside Afghan territory & our afghan friends couldn't do anything about it !


Such Screw ups are occasional .. After response .. The afghans stop it and protest .. That's how it goes!

And India's aim is to start something to get their forces in Afghanistan in the name of training to encircle Pakistan. Pakistan is not afraid to fight but Pakistan is watching these moves and trying to avoid scenario where India wants us to give them reasons to increase presence in Afghanistan.

Motors would have been used to give cover ..
Its my thought.

Infiltration is now impossible there best chance would be in night.The attack occurred in broad day light so they were not trying "trespassing" they are just eager to see NASR in action.
