Afghan security forces have killed a Pakistan general who fought along with the Taliban in northern Afghanistan, officials said Saturday.
Nida Mohammad Nadim was the head of Taliban’s military branch for the provinces of Faryab, Badghis, Sar-e-Pul and Ghor.
He was killed during a raid by the security forces overnight in Faryab, Sayed Anwar Sadat, the provincial governor said.
The raid also left three of his aides including Mullah Zakir, a reputed Taliban commander, he added.
“General Nadim had intended to carry out major attacks in parts of Faryab, however, the security forces killed him foiling the attacks,” the governor said
