We should send all the afghan Immigrants back home. There are more illegal afghan immigrants in Pakistan than people who are refugees. Do you know this cross border movement of people on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border has caused significant re infection of polio in Pakistan? Because we have diseases people coming from Afghanistan and reinfecting the local Pakistani population with spread of Polio; its made it hard to free Pakistan from the polio disease.

You keep asking you should visit KPK you'll find it out, locals fear afghanis and try to avoid them but because businesses are in their control as well locals have to buy things from them. Government figure is 1.5m to 3m but other sources including UN says 4-5m in KPK.

we dont fear them. infact they are now well integerated here. They are known for selling clean food specially clean vegitables.

well in certain time, police treat them harshly but overall they are treated just like other Pakistanis.

there are two sets of Afghanistanis here

1. Pashto speaking most of them are economically not sound some are as those in Transport business and hoteling.

2. Farsiwan Afghanistanis: They are mostly economically sound and in business of tailoring, botiques, groceries, English language academies, and also prostitution.

Here is how things are going. In KPK afghans treat local Pakistanis bad terrible and things have come down so badly rich afghans even pay zakat/charity and anything to beggers who are only afghans such is the hatred. They have businesses in Pakistan without Federal or Provincial Government asking them how they got licenses i would suppose our goverment is extremely corrupt for the past 25 Years. Businesses including Trucking, House Building, Property dealing, Home paint shops and other equipment, carpentry, farming, petrol/cng stations, gift shops, restaurants/fast foods, wedding halls and many more categories, drug selling is family business someone agrees with me or not. I have reported certain people and must be enjoying their time behind bars. Those who are not working their families are sending huge remittance to them from Germany, Turkey, Canada, Australia, USA, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and lives like ultra rich.

PS. They keep their money in homes not banks for what good is their businesses to Pakistan when money is not regulating/being injected in our economy apart for groceries and dashing cars and luxury houses they buy. Believe me or ask those who know KPK well in 5 bedroom houses 5-7 families are living yet every family is rich.

Oh is it that bad? I too have heard people say this but not that much. I think ANP has not done enough and also since many Pakistanis believe that Afghans are brothers, this problem is just hidden.

You read my earlier post you can imagine when all the business goes into their hands and no taxes are paid back what would you feel like my personal view I would feel 3rd class citizen infront of them.

I was actually called a zionist and a bloddy muhajir in other forums, when I humbly said that Afghan refugees need to repatriated if they do not have proper documentation.

I still feel that 98% of Pakistanis, especially punjabis, consider Afghans as brothers. This is my experience.

I have more respect for the women of Afghanistan than I do of the men.....I have many family members who volunteered (both in Afghanistan as well as refugee camp in Kohat and Peshawar) helping with NGOs and volunteer groups that treat women and children. I never saw these places, but from what they told me -they had many heart-breaking tales.

unfortunately in Pakistan's case - we've done all that we can to help them (and that too despite our own internal socio-economic issues).....in exchange we got mortars, casualties in Bajaur and other Agencies, terrorism and blame games from certain policy and certain social circles in Afghanistan. It's bad enough to be dealing with a serious national security situation.

i hope things get better so they all can go back home which is where they all belong and should be in the first place.....but i do hope either way that these casualties of war would be taken care of and their basic needs met
