I have a feeling that this is all being done to win some goodwill from US and Western nations.

Pakistan is acting as a connective hub between kabul Airport and respective countries, even IMF staff has been evacuated to Islamabad Airport and are being catered to till flight is arranged for them to their respective destinations.

Turkey, Japan, Almost all of Europe personnel are Dutch, Sweden you name it. Even Australia, New Zealand.

This is very different scenario from what you are imagining.

Yes USA maybe, but the rest of nations we maintain very friendly ties with and they have never acted not held anything against Pakistan. India is denied that facility.

Entire worlds embassy and their support staff not a couple of countries.
Islamabad Airport is the only way in and out of Afghanistan at this point, and PIA is the only commercial airline operating out of Afghanistan.

This is huge from a diplomatic and soft power point of view.
