Good question. They don't look like ANA. Maybe militia or terrorists. Even then they are heavily armed. Machine guns and rpgs as well as the AKs.

Do we get involved in conflicts? Sure but we are not the root cause. We didn't start WW1 or WW2. Neither the Korean War or the Vietnam War or the Soviet Afghan War or the Gulf War 1 or even the invasion of Afghanistan in response to 9/11. The only root cause IMO is the Gulf War 2.

We had a small group of soldiers on patrol looking to safeguard border and they seem to have been attacked in the line of duty by a much larger hodge podge of afghan trash
