Afghan NSA calls Taliban Pak agent, says country wouldn't accept being ruled by 'proxy' of backward Pak

ANI | US | Last Updated at October 03 2019 01:15 IST
Calling Taliban a proxy of Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI, Afghan National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib has said that his country would never accept being ruled by the "proxy" of such backward country which has a "hard time feeding its own people".

"The Taliban are a proxy of Pakistan, of not just of Pakistan, but Pakistan's intelligence agency. Afghanistan would never accept to be ruled by Pakistanis," Mohib said at Council on Foreign Relations here.

"If we did not accept Soviet rule as a superpower, it would be beyond imagination to accept the proxy of a backward country which has a hard time feeding its own people," he added.

Mohib said that Afghanistan refused to accept the rule of Soviet Union -- which "were much better than the Taliban in the sense that "they were not destroying wedding halls at least" -- because Afghans would never submit to "any kind of enforced ideology or rule"

"We could have submitted if it was about submission to an idea into a superpower, who wanted us to accept a certain way of life. We could have done that with the soviet union," he said. "They were much better than the Taliban, they were not destroying wedding halls at least... they are building infrastructure in our country at least... but the Afghans would not submit to any kind enforced ideology or rule on our country."

Mohib's comments came amid stalled peace talks between the United States and the Taliban in the aftermath of the Kabul terror attack.

Recently, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan had admitted that the country's Army and ISI had trained Al-Qaeda and other groups in Afghanistan.

This is video of his statement I am sure:

He also told Indian journalists that with Amrullah Saleh most likely to become Vice President of Afghanistan, Indo-Afghan relations will improve further.

The slowly dying corrupt creatures in Ghani regime; are now suppose to do what they are designed & programmed. Well, the buckets of money in Kabul palace does speak a lot. The man like him still doesn't have the courage to speak truth that who created Taliban & why? but just because that might be disrespectful to his masters; only Pakistan speak the truth and his master agrees with reality. These pawns are now merely trying to en-cash the money they have been paid and somehow costing Indian exchequer more than before.

However, these puppets can keep bragging & peddling the lies while no one acknowledges though, Doval may feel as served. Not just that the statement is a blatant lie but Ghani puppet gang has to prove their loyalty while breathing their last moments.

I'm afraid once the Americans leave, they wouldn't have much of a choice given they are already struggling with American support to keep control over vast territories of Afghanistan.

If the Taliban are a Pakistani proxy tan I'd say Pakistan has succeeded where the USSR and the Americans failed. For a country that 'has a hard tine feeding it's own people' that is indeed quite an achievement.

Though I think the Taliban are a close ally than proxy of Pakistan. Calling them proxies diminishes their standing as a political entity and their long hard struggle.

This guy is already banned to speak with US authorities officially. He was put in place by US last time when he forgot his place and now, merely peddling something unrealistic. The puppets have seen their future.

His comments should be seen in context of fact that Khalilzad is today going to deliver letters to Pak & Taliban from SecState Pompeo that says US will restart peace talks with Taliban only if Taliban agrees to immediately begin talks with Afghan govt & agrees to significantly reduce attacks on ANDSF & civilians + NATO.

So now the Taliban has forced to encounter reality that without giving significant concession they will never get a peace deal.

i think my backward country should stop feeding the afghans who are illegally here........
they (Afghans) were so brave to fight the soviets that 70 percent came to Pakistan.... they should have stayed there and fight....

I think the Taliban realise that they didn't get this offer of 'conditional peace' because the Americans were feeling charitable.

They understand that the political will of the US to prop up the current Afghan government is running out. They already control a good chunk of Afghanistan and they've weathered the worst of it - they just have to hold out for bit longer to get a better deal.

They are repeatedly quoted as saying that they will not lose on the table what they won on the battlefield.

This Mohib guy is an immature idiot. If the Taliban indeed were Pakistani proxies then Taliban would have signed the durand line agreement, their senior leadership wouldn't have been imprisoned by Pakistan or killed. The fact is that Taliban are the product of their environment and time who arose due to the lack of rule of law and barbarism of some so called jihadi leaders after the collapse of Najeebullah's government. Taliban enjoy wide spread support among conservative rural Afghans who have been neglected by central government or where the central government has no control. The Pakistani Taliban alliance is a marriage of interests, not ideology. The Taliban and Pakistani establishment are poles apart on their interpretation of Islam although one can't deny there are certain minority groups within Pak establishment who have a soft spot for Taliban. Those who call Taliban proxies of Pakistan give Pakistan too much credit that they don't deserve.
This mohib guy was raised in the UK and has no idea of ground reality and facts in Afghanistan. He lives in a bubble and he might be sincere in his beliefs but nonetheless he is wrong.

Lol ... Backward country.. .

Look who is talking .. A country where people live in caves.. . Has no university or college.. .No water or sanitation.. And if u have 7 or 8 year old son or daughter ... Only option for u is to send them as sex slaves to one or the other waring sides including the government

So he want slavery of a super power rather then a backward country.. Wow i think he won't be called a slave Iike endians.. :partay:

Taliban came into being, gained widespread popularity, defeated the USSR and now America because of Pakistan. Without the intel sharing and Pakistani ISI commanders directing their ops, the USSR might have murdered just another 5 million Afghans and the Taliban won't know how to fight em.
One does not simply pick up a weapon and go beat an invading country, they need strategy and coordination and the most vital of all "Intel".

No one can deny Pakistan's role but some people give too much credit where it's not due. There were multitude if reasons as to why Soviets and then Americans failed in Afghanistan. We can't give all the credit to one party like this Mohib idiot is doing.
