Well, I guess after his excellency, Dr. Ahmad Ghani (now dropped Ahmadzai) has visited China, there is no end to good news emanating from Afghanistan.

This has been reported by multiple sources including the RT here and now by Tolo here

It seems that ALP has not been payed in 3 Months!

It seems the Afghan security forces are selling their weapons to the Taliban -- What ?!?!!!! -- ALP joining the Pakistani backed traitors the Taliban -- Naaaaah!!!

-- --

According to reports, the Afghan Local Police (ALP) in Logar, Ghazni and Maidan Wardak provinces have not been paid their salary in the past three months, forcing some of the policemen to sell their weapons and ammunition to the Taliban.

A number of ALP in Andar district of Ghazni has warned the government of joining the Taliban "if the government does not pay the salaries soon."

Time and again this has been reported that there are moles of taliban in afghan defence forces. Even the Brits made a deal with taliban rather than entrusting afghan defence forxes for a safe exit. Well Afganistan has to go a long way in establishing its sovereignity. But ethnically devided Afghanistan is itself a time bomb. I have high hopes from Ashraf Ghani but the way he has been blackmailed by Abdullah Abdullah for preaidency itself speaks that he wont be a 100% independent president. Not to mention my fears of a iraq type collapse of Aghan defence forces given ISAF leaves only a token strenght to defend still a fragile country. But in my view A stable Afghanistan (eventhough a hostile one) is in the greater interest of Pakistan than a war torn, devided ticking time bomb.
