What's new

Afghan forces retreated from Ghormach's district center, and get ambushed by the Taliban on exiting

Not at all,the ANA provincial forces tasked with holding territory are rather disorganized, corrupt and influenced by local actors, but the us trained special forces and the core elements are much better.Like in kunduz you will soon see counterattacks with reinforcements from the centre and mass us airstrikes and talibs will be forced to retreat.Same old.Repeat.India doesnt have anything to do with this really.
Isn't Taliban are well known for hit and run guerrilla tactics, or you took 17 years in realizing the way taliban fights, you are not contributing anything new. The major question is after billions of dollar aid, advance equipment, superior in numbers yet still ANA is failed to fight like an army, instead they are still behaving like militia.

. .
No amount of training given to the ANA is going to work for them. If they have no believe in what there mission is there for. If they can not fight for the there country what’s point in having a national afghan army tnem for?

. . . .
US will eventually Pull back like Iraq , US has no interest in Afghanistan whatsoever they are just keeping their image and ego intact ... they can't accept the defeat and leave cause it will be humiliating for them , ANA will never be able to stand against the Taliban no matter much you train or give advance equipment to them .. sooner or later US weapons will fall into the hands of Taliban just like 60% of the Afghanistan landscape .

. .
Either Afghans take a stand and prove to the world they are a nation state by categorically showing a neutral stance in the region.
No India No Pakistan No Iran No china No Russia, Equal Relations with everyone because they are in no position to counter any of these mighty countries.
BE totally neutral in foreign policy and Focus on Internal Reconciliation and take the Rebels who have genuine demands to the table and form instead of this Terrorist Terrorist Rant and then take joint action against Radicals who dont give a damn for Afghan Identity and hell bent of Religious fundamentalist destruction like ISIS. At least start to move in that direction. Instead of becoming Prostitute for aid from US and India and Bark everything that is in interest of those countries.

Either This or dismantle This Country they don't exist. A Country Establishment cannot exist on Life support like this. We are sick of this Drama. First Soviets then India-Pak Cold war now USA.
Why is world even bothering to keep this state united if its own people are not interested in it.

Yes, the "same old story...." Stalemate must be a new euphemism for victory in Afghanistan. It's time for US to pull up stakes and leave Afghanistan and let the ANA defend it. I'm sure with all the billions in equipment and training given to its soldiers, they will hold their own.
that would be a suicide?

It doesnt matter,no american bodies are returning in body bags by the dozens from afghanistan. They keep a few thousand instructors and special forces and rest is airpower.Peanuts for 700 billion dollar budget. They can keep this up forever, its afghans on both sides that are slaughtering each other.Taliban can never keep territory in urban areas due to us airpower or advance along roads in mass for large assaults into teh core because like at kobane with sisi us airpower will shatter them. Both sides can play this cat and mouse game indefinetely,us economy will not collapse from this and is actually a minor part of us budget, nor are its troops getting killed and affecting public support within usa.

Now you have tried to analyze this war into US favour, here two questions arises

1) This war has no direct effect on US not even economy recieving any damage then why USA forcing everyone for dialogue, specially relating with US exit from A-tan?

2) Taliban or Afghans have long fighting history, they can continue to many more decades and now even Russia and China seems to be more active in A-tan, and the recent rise in attacks reflects the increasing arm stock of taliban, on other hand, Afghan national militia (I won't call them army as it disrespect the term army if I associate it with them) continues to recieve support from U.S, so the question is, what will be the best end for this conflict?

1.Just because they can keep at it,doesnt mean they want to.US military forces are still stretched wide all over middle east, also lining up against russia and china. The war still costs them some billions of dollars.Though its a miniscule percentage of their whole budget, its still billions.

2.Negotiated settlement.Taliban cant win,nor can they even occupy any major urban areas.ANA-USA dont have manpower to defeat taliban.Eventually there will be compromise solution with federal autonomy i think.
