What's new

Afghan ambassador recovered

I must make a new thread in 'Members Introduction' where I could manifest my stances about the Afghan Government, ISAF, ANA and Taliban.

Well, US assume every single Afghan who doesn't fight the US troops, as their favorite. Its nothing all about Northern Alliance.

Moreover, You wont hear anything like Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, I hear this name only from Pakistanis. Believe me!

I am from Kandahar; a pashto speaking Afghan and an anti American, yet, I dont feel any social prejudice from your so called NA.:pop:

I guess my questions would be, what do average Afghans think about the presence of US/ISAF in Afghanistan? Does that hurt the Afghan pride or is the Pashtun/Taliban problem a bigger issue for most Afghans than the occupation? Also do Afghans believe that if the US/ISAF were to withdraw, this problem of Pashtun insurgency would end?

Also, what should be the Pakistani Pashtuns doing in this situation when they believe that the occupation of Afghanistan is wrong and their attempts to dislodge the occupiers are a true form of "Jihad"?

Should Pakistan totally destroy (if possible) any Pashtun support for folks in Afghanistan? What would Afghan Pashtuns think about such Pakistani operations in FATA against their Pakistani Pashtun brothers? Is there any love here or is it every man for himself? (I.E. Afghans for Afghans and Pakistanis for Pakistanis?).

Please respond to the above queries honestly if at all possible. This will help my understanding of this situation quite a bit.

maybe I can add some more to this conversation. I've talked with plenty of pashtuns coming directly from the tribal areas, apparently they are frustrated with the amount of refugees coming in from Afghanistan, so much for pashtun brotherhood.

according to them the refugees are taking up all the jobs, unregistered, there's been a vast increase in crime rate, increase of prostitutes(darri women). this is not coming from me, but it is coming from people in peshawar and from the tribal clans such as yusufzai and mohmand members.

they believe Sarhad was, at one time, not like what we are seeing now. I've also made a few interesting observations of my own. I've noticed there usually are afghanis involved in balochistan protests in Quetta, I don't know if any of you have noticed that? I've heard from Afghanis themselves how Afghani refugees living in Quetta "stay loyal to Afghanistan".

15 held in connection with Quetta blast

By Saleem Shahid

QUETTA, Sept 25: Police have detained 15 suspects in connection with Wednesday’s suicide attack on an FC vehicle in Quetta.

“The case has been transferred to the CID for investigation,” city police chief Mohammad Akbar told Dawn on Thursday.

No organisation or person has claimed responsibility of the attack. “The bomber has not been identified so far,” police sources said, adding that his head had been taken to the Civil Hospital.

Security was put on high alert in the city and hundreds of additional police personnel were deployed outside government and private buildings, hotels, railway station, airport and other places.

Strict checks were carried out at the Quetta airport after a threat of a suicide attack on the airport in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, sources said that most of the suspects arrested were Afghans.

A CID official said the man who had blown himself up near the FC vehicle appeared to be an Afghan national. Samples of his blood and parts of his body will be sent to Lahore for a DNA test.

CID SSP Ghulam Dastagir said the department was also investigating the recent bomb blast in a seminary near Kuchlak. “Teams of police are questioning students and teachers of the madressah,” he said, adding that none of them had been formally arrested.

Sources said police had exhumed the body of a victim of the blast and obtained samples for a DNA test.

Police were also looking for some injured students who had disappeared from a hospital.

aside from this, I have no malice for any of my Afghan brethren. I'm just frustrated at how I see so much hatred my Afghani brethren have for Pakistanis and our homeland. This is just not acceptable to me and what pisses me off even more is the anti-Pakistani intent Afghanis have even when they live, work, and reproduce in Pakistan. yet aside from that, I believe one day both countries will merge. I don't know how that's going to happen, but mark my words it will happen.

Jana ji, can you describe the feelings pakistani pashtuns have for their brethren across the durand line? please, thank you...

Still no trace of kidnapped Afghan diplomat

October 01, 2008. PESHAWAR: There is still no trace of kidnapped Afghan diplomat Abdul Khaliq Farahi despite the ‘media scoop’ on Monday claiming he had been released. “There has been no lead yet to determine where the Afghan diplomat has been kept,” senior security officials said, requesting anonymity. Local media reported on Monday that Farahi, who was kidnapped in Peshawar on September 22 from Peshawar, had been found in the Khyber Agency, but the political administration denied it. “Is there no authority or regulatory body to ask why the media is terrorising the nation with unconfirmed reports?” the security officials asked appearing displeased at what they called “irresponsible reporting”. The security officials fear the kidnapped diplomat could have been taken either to Mohmand or Waziristan. “I think his captors may force political decisions from the Afghan government,” one official said. staff report

Also do Afghans believe that if the US/ISAF were to withdraw, this problem of Pashtun insurgency would end?

As I have already answered this sort of question asked from another PDF member, since I copy my post and paste it right here:

Well, the level of resentment differs with the passage of time;

In 2001, about 90% Afghans welcomed the US invasion.

In 2003, it reached 50%.

In 2006, Helmand and other southern regions were rocked by the NATO raids. It really lowered the 'love graph' for the ISAF. So, it became 30%.

Currently, there is a very complicated public opinion in Afghanistan:

60% Afghans think the Afghan Security Forces must be trained and equipped properly in order to tackle the internal disputes, the Taleban should join the government with reconciliation process and the US must leave then.

20% Afghans vote for Taleban and strongly defy ISAF and its 'puppet' government.

10% Afghans justify the US accupation and desire to see Taleban vanish from the face of the earth.

10% feel ok with the government however, have strong resentment for both Taleban and US.

Almost all the Afghans believe that if ISAF leaves Afghanistan without strengthening the Afghan National Army, the country would face the deadliest consequences soon after its left alone.

Also, what should be the Pakistani Pashtuns doing in this situation when they believe that the occupation of Afghanistan is wrong and their attempts to dislodge the occupiers are a true form of "Jihad"?

As we all Muslims know that there is no 'physical' or political borders among Muslim ummah and all the Muslims are one nation. In the light of the said fact, Pakistanis, Arabs, Chechens and other nonAfghan Muslims fighting the ISAF troops (not blowing the innocent civvies!) is definitely JIHAD. However, owing to the current political and social crisis among the Muslim world; the nonAfghans should avoid involving in bullying the Afghans, taking on Afghan Police and showing 'exposing' influence among Afghan Taleban. Common Afghans would like them (foreigner taleban) to target only ISAF forces (not even Afghan Police and Afghan National Army personnals!). This is what I have been hearing from common Afghans every day.

Should Pakistan totally destroy (if possible) any Pashtun support for folks in Afghanistan? What would Afghan Pashtuns think about such Pakistani operations in FATA against their Pakistani Pashtun brothers? Is there any love here or is it every man for himself? (I.E. Afghans for Afghans and Pakistanis for Pakistanis?).

whom do you mean by folks? Taleban? If yes...

Majority of Afghans feel sorry for the suicide bombings and military operations. They know Pakistan is fighting someone's else war. The Pak govt. should give up taking on its own Pashtons.

We every day watch Pakistani news here in Afghanistan and shake our heads in pity........."what a pity!....the Pakistanis didnt learn lesson from us....they had a developed country.........now they are destroying it. The Pakistanis had a highly trained and patriot Army, they have been killing them. We have the foreign intruders here, thats why we have an excuse for fighting......why the Pakistanis have raised arms against their brothers? Are there US Humvee patrolling the streets of Islamabad? No?! who are they fighting then?"

this is what we (even the Dari-speaking Afghans/Northern Alliance...in your language!) usually say when we realize about a suicide explosion or a missile attack in Pakistan. Believe me this is true.

Ahh dear these are Takfiris who are being used by CIA and US for own intrests while at the same time Takfiris think that by joining hands with CIA and US apart from getting dollars and weapons they will be succeeded in bringing down the governement here and they will be able to establish their rule which according to the Takfiris is their ultimate goal throughout the Islamic countries.

. .
Interesting^

whats takfiris? is it an Arabic word?

"Takfiri (from the Arabic word تكفيري) is the person who professes the disbelief of certain individuals or groups within the Muslim society or Islam. They are viewed as extremists by some of their opponents, arguing that "no one Muslim can call another Muslim a 'kafir' (infidel)".

Mainly Takfiris terming other Muslims as wrong while declaring their own version of religion as the right one, mainly support militancy against their own states.
