Peshawar, 29 Sept. (AKI) - By Syed Saleem Shahzad - Afghanistan's kidnapped ambassador to Pakistan, Abdul Khaliq Farahi, has been released, informed sources told AKI.

Farahi returned to the northern city of Peshawar late on Monday, the sources said.

No further details were available as Pakistani Government officials declined to comment on Farahi's release.

Farahi was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen a week ago in Peshawar, in volatile North West Frontier Province. His driver was killed in the ambush.

No group claimed Farahi's abduction, which took place in the upscale Hayatabad area of Peshawar.

He should also feel the responsibility and not roam around in city on his diplomatic car so carelessly.
His act was invitation for trouble.
he should have travel in city with official guard and refrain from getting in to conflicts with locals on childish issues.

well being a guest, yes its our responsibility..but i personally hate these afghans, they have shattered our social fabric, our peace..and look at their puppet president"s statements then, always blamming pakistan for the misdeeds and attacks in afghanistan.now dont u think sir he should also act with responsibility?:tsk:

Was he freed or released?

If he was 'released', then I think its safe to assume he never really was 'captured' and was the usual Afghani drama.

So far only God knows what was thiss drama all about at the point of time when Marriot bombing was in focus.
Other thing in focus was hot debate over US incursion inside Pakistan territory.
The issues which went in back burner were:
1- deadly conflicts in indian Kashmir with army and civilians.
2- Zardari's visit to US and his meeting with indian prime minister.
3- there were some incidents of shoot out at indian border and kidnapping of few Kashmiri civilians from Pakistan side.
4- Opening of borders with india as CBM which is like giving into indian demands or let me say a u turn in foreign policy witht respect to india.

I agree it was stupid on his part.

Meanwhile there is some confusion Geo News is reporting that he is not been released yet.

Can you please evaluate how the Afghans 'shattered your social fabric' and destroyed the peace in your country?

The Taleban (half of them Arabs, Pakistanis, Chechen, and other foreigners) were backed and equipped by Pakistan Military Inter-Service Intelligence to fight the Afghans (Northern Alliance) and make a secure environment for Pakistani government where he can impose its policies over Afghans.

Dont you think this is and was an obvious interference in Afghanistan?

btw, before throwing garbage on others, you must have a look of your own deeds. I wish we Afghans could have as 'independent' president as Asif Alif Zardari and as 'independent' country as Pakistan. We are fed up with our 'puppet' head of state.

P.S; I hope I dont get racist responses. Lets just take a side of truth. Apart of dirty politics, Afghans and Pakistanis are brothers. Cheers!
