It would be so cool to see all of these vs one / maybe 2 JF-17s :sniper:

after on the way back we could use our mirages to use dumb bombs on the mayor of kabuls office basically giving him more visibility to see the condition of Afghanistan

k

it would probably be like this

Also, the pilots might be all foreigners and the RIO; in this case basically a button pusher is Afghan for legal / culpability reasons. If contractors pull out these planes won’t be worth much.

I read somewhere that out of 16 they already lost 2-3 of them to crashes. Is this news true ?

I am aware of two crashes. 1 of them was flown by American pilots. In addition, AAF have 26 A-29s in service.

Alright yeah that sound about right. I read it somewhere here on PDF but wasnt sure of the details. Turbo porps always have poor performance compared to jet engine so despite crashes plane has a pretty good record.

one was crashed by us pilots, wonder if they would refund that aircraft?

US is paying for these aircraft so doesn't matter how many the crash. Every thing that Afghan forces own is bought and paid by US. Even now US pays billions of dollars to Afghan govt to keep their forces up and running. Ashraf Ghani himself admitted that they wont last 3 months without US support.

3 months time is an exaggeration

True wouldnt last a day but even this coming out of Ghanis mouth just shows their place. US artificially develop the Afghan forces and once they leave all those weapons will fall into hands of lunatics. Last time it was just stingers but the mess they created this time is just legendary.

True, the A-29 is a beautiful aircraft for COIN mission. It can deploy a wide spectrum of ordinances while being cheap to operate.
