Advantage India in Bangladesh land swap

. .
i will never come on bangladeshi thread...hard to satisfy their frustration.

1)if give something then-> ...conspiracy theory..we are still losing..awami dalal.
2)if Take something then..->awami dalal..indian stooges..

But don't you think they can whip up the excitement of a circus?

. .
but after 1971 india didn't strengthen that bondage.

I believe India did not do anything. Neither negative nor positive.

India was just being complacent.

That was wrong, yes but that does not explain the negative publicity for India in Bangladesh.

that is the tragedy for india, u know as india didn't react positively the relationship vacuum was filled up by other country like china, soudi arabia, or even pakistan......

india tried to apply nepal strategy on Bangladesh which didn't function. Bangladesh and nepal is not same.

.
The relations soured because it was taken that India was supporting Mujib.

Mujib, in the interim, wanted to become a dictator with a one party rule and his protégés were acting as if they alone had inherited the earth and Bangladesh.

Obviously, that was not liked by the common Bangladeshi people.

Since India did nothing to advise Mujib, it was taken that India was acting in concert.

Hence, India lost favour with most common Bangladeshis. Other vested interest fanned this dislike and one thing led to another to the present position!

It is not that the Bangladeshi politicians are babes in the wood or spring chickens. They know what is importance of India being a neighbour and that China and Pakistan are bahoot dur!

Yet, it makes good politics to play all other parties so as to ensure Bangladesh's interest are kept secure!

mmm...so the Indians invested much of their interests into the Awami League, and for what? A few strips of land?

Well, cheap things suit cheap people.

Or am I missing something?

Strips of land were agreed to by Narashimha Rao and Khaleda Zia as per their Agreement of 1992.

Indeed, it is a cheap thing for everyone else, but not those who have some humanity in themselves. Or for those who live in these enclaves.

The enclave people are as good as non existent. They have no citizenship or its benefits. They have no electricity, no clean water, no health care, no hospital, no birth and death registration, no education, no right to movement from their enclaves to whichever country they feel that they should belong to!

Now, if solving their misery and statelessness over six decade and more is cheap, then one wonders what is not cheap.

Personally, as a human being, I don't care if India loses in solving these inhuman enclaves. I want all people to have the right to citizenship and its benefits and live with honour and not be deprived or hounded.

They deserve a life that we all enjoy and not give it a second thought as being a boon. Let them also have this boon!

Bangladesh will lost some 500 acre land in land swap but will get 10000 acre if we swap our enclave as in India we have 51 enclave where India has 151 enclave . resident will get the citizenship of the country they want to be . so not seems a babd idea . we need to solve this 64 year old problem .

.
Good to see that reality is dawning and stepping away from the Advantage India in Bangladesh land swap refrain.

It is 111 enclaves.
