Absolutely agree. There is no point getting PT-6 (I am still not sure if BAF will buy them). Instead, the one you proposed or any other western trainers could fit well (riding on the assumption that we will get US jets). We should have actually negotiated some trainers with them or some European ones that could have been also used for light attack purpose.

There was an aircraft that was below the Yak 130 called the Yak 152 (made by Irkut Corp.) that was supposed to be a JV development with the Chinese (same factory that makes the PT-6). They are still working the kinks and bugs out I guess....

There's actually very good point buying them. They are dirt cheap & we produce all the necessary spairs so BAF technicians can repair them without any external support.

All they need is a bit of tweaking to make their avionics upto the mark.
