ADA plans to use Modular construction approach for AMCA Programme

Well,ADA has to rely on whatever experience they have got from the LCA project and some measly amount of funds cleared by the GoI. :(

I wish that was the case, but as things stand today,we've missed that train. :(

That's the problem........you didn't gain any experience from LCA other than structures and electronics........the main component...a reliable high thrust engine is still a far thing in the future for India. If you would've managed to get the engine sorted for LCA, you might have improved upon the core. But you didn't. So the reality is, unless India develops it's own powerplant, it will be same old story....engine imported and then electronics modified and copied here and there.

Do you know of any country that went into 5th Gen development without fully mastering 3rd or 4th gen? Nope.

Even European nations realized that........and these are those that built the Concorde in 1960s....with no modern CAD....no advanced calculators.

I see where u are coming from but if anyone can do it, it will be India.

Have you heard of plane that hasn't crashed during development? ................Yup, India did it with LCA.

How many countries failed to get to MARS in a single go? ...........................Yup, India did it again without a budget in only 15 months.

India started to build 3+/4th generation fighter with LCA. Today, because of its open architecture, it can be upgraded easily. It will be a 4+ generation fighter in a year time.

AS far as the engine goes, we made one, Kaveri with FADEC. Sadly IAF changed their requirements.

I strongly believe, if anyone can do it, it will be India. Im Not saying this because I'm from there but because its a fact.

How has India missed the PAK-FA train? That particular train hasn't even left the yard yet alone made it to the platform...

What utter drivel is this? India has gained nothing from the the LCA because the Kaveri had troubles? So the 50+ laboratories and technology centres spread across India created purely for the LCA program are meaningless? So having a nodal design agency (ADA) that didn't exist in the past counts for nothing? Having the ability to design, fabricate, integrate, test and produce a fighter all in-house is nothing? Designing and integrating an in-house AESA radar, SDS, quadruplex flight control system is a total waste of time?

You're a clown of the highest order for spouting this cr@p.

You fools are so stuck on this "LCA=most humiliating failure in human history" delusion you can't see the reality.

No point in embellishing this point. The IAF had nothing to do with it- the Kaveri never met the thrust output target it was originally intended to deliver. BUT it is a very solid base to build on in the future and WILL be. GRTE are still developing it, now for UCAVs, and in the future this project will bear fruit.

China? Japan?Turkey? Indonesia? Korea?

Wait for these LOSERS to spin even this one as a failure.....

Kaveri is not a failure.
In event of sanctions, we can use it on Tejas.
Sure Tejas with a Kaveri will be underpowered, but it will fly.
It can be used as a BVR truck like JF 17 is.

lol, nope. This is everything to do with politics and will end with politics. LCA is too big to fail, AMCA need not be that big and it isn't anything impossible. The Indians can build a 5gen but its the IAF that will end the politics with either a positive review or negative. As of yet, we have yet to see enough LCA in the IAF to have its end.
As for the engine, well, they may not get it proper but the aren't GE. however with their effort, they can eventually manufacture, spares and perhaps a complete GE414 under licensee, which is as good as it gets to desi.
You know, somebody once asked me why India built an aircraft carrier when its engine, aircraft, AD System is imported.
So I said to him, well at least the other 40 thousand tons would at least be built in India.
The same rule applies to the Tejas. With LCA project they've managed to grasp enough technology required to build a 5gen aircraft, and they aren't just betting on their technology. Remember India can import or outsource what it needs, hence how they even got so far with the LCA in the first place. Would you consider South Korea or Japan a nation that shouldn't build 5 gen aircraft? Its just common sense politics. These are efforts to localise production of what a nation has large requirement for on strategic level. If you can dream it, finance it then it will happen. Thats How America did! its how China does it! and its how India will do it!

One of the biggest mistake India committed during LCA is to link Kaveri engine with the project. In fact Kaveri alone delayed whole project for many years till they removed it. I am sure this time they won't repeat this mistake and AMCA will go on with or without indigenous engine.

Try to get the context against which my comment was made brother!!What I meant to say was that,by unnecessarily dragging their feet for too long, wondering whether or not to commit ourselves with the PAKFA project,we missed the golden opportunity to learn anything worthwhile about designing aspects of a fifth generation fighter, because quite frankly,by the time India decided to commit itself with the project and sink its funds into it,most of the R&D work was already over there remained very little (if anything at all) left yet to be designed, sealing every opportunity to learn anything by working closely with their scientists and engineers forever!!That was my whole point, that we took so long making a firm decision, the opportunity got simply withered away into thin air!!Hope I've made my point clear, bra.

This source, idrw, is a piece of shit.

LCA is already doing modular construction. It's that HAL is creating the modules and testing them, and also integrating the system and testing it. Now the fabrication and testing of modules is being outsourced to private firms like TATAs, Mahindras, Reliance, etc. And HAL will integrate and test the full system.

Then you are dumb , if LCA is been manufactured under Modular Construction then can you tell me names of Companies who are building Main fuselage or Tails for it ?? . First Study wht is Modular Construction don't try to act smart if you cannot support any of the claims of modular construction of LCA , Above Figure is also for AMCA given out by ADA for AMCA and not for LCA .

Y u jumping the gun? U need to reread all of his posts.

HAL and other PSU's follow "Batch Mode of Productions " which means Modules are created stage by stage over a series of workstations, and different batches of products are made . Only Advantage is initial capital is low but single production line can be used to produce several products while in Modular Each Module is produced simultaneously by different machines but initial cost is high .

Ever wondered why it take HAL close to one year to bring out Each LCA and Why Sukhoi has so low production rates in Hal ?
