ACM Idris Hassan Latif — WWII veteran who chose India over Pakistan and went on to head IAF

So why they started using their actual names now and non of directors ,singers and producers ever adopted non Islamic names..

I made only a factual correction to your assertion. I have never really thought over this aspect that why in British India, many a Muslim actors and actresses adopted Hindu names. Even those Muslim actors, who came to Pakistan, after 1947, retained these names, like Santosh Kumar, Darpan, Sudhir, Ajay Kumar etc. etc.

.
I dont know much about actors who moved to Pakistan but I know only about the singer madam
Noor Jahan.

Of course, there were many Muslim actors, music directors, singers, writers etc. etc., who worked in Bollywood, but later came to and settled in Pakistan, and worked in Pakistani cinema. Some of them originally belonged to areas in Pakistan, some to areas in India. They are too many.

That is because in the mid-20th century, acting was not considered to be a noble profession. Therefore, Muslims would conceal their identities (and family names) to go into acting.

Another unrelated thing I discovered is that Muslim women from the zamindaari families, from the late 1800s to mid-1900s always had a masculine name, along with the customary suffix of Begum. On further research I learned that this tradition was to distinguish from the nautch and dancing girls at the time, who typically used feminine names.

He did what he thought was right and let's not criticize his choice. Also it's not a good idea to insult people simply on the basis of their nationality.

May he rest in peace.

He must be rolling in his grave considering what a communal disaster india has become
Need i remind
Well, there were not hundreds but millions of muslims who decided to stay put in India after the partition. There were even many Muslim politicians who were against the concept of Pakistan. I can't say they were uninformed, but they were definitely not wise enough to see a hundred years into the future. Now the price will be payed by their coming generations.
