The problem with your argument is that modi said just that , i will bring down inflation and all price rise immediately , as if waving a magic wand would do so. now , not only can he not deliver things have gone up (in some cases by 200% ) . Thats the problem when yo make tall promises , people expect you to deliver and do so fast.

Though Modi did say: "You have given Congress 60 years. Can you not give me 60 months to change your lives?"

Well, we need to give him 5 years. But he'll need to sort out the criticalities like food inflation within 60 days. This is what the aam aadmi wants to see happening. The promise of building 100 smart cities etc can wait. They are not on the common man's radar just yet.

Yep! It's a South Asian thing! We've been ruled by the Brits for centuries and treated as slaves. Our politicians have taken their place.

But we ordinary souls are to blame too. We still act like slaves, boot-licking these turds. Carrying their suitcases, polishing their shoes in public (ref DSP dusting Mayawati's sandals in public!), and so on! It's in our DNA.

Thank God, things have started to change due to the young gen next who are more aware. But it's a long grind ahead. The politician's chamchas will remain well into the next century.

Best of my knowledge Modi has never promised anything except good governance. So far there is NO evidence of bad governance.

Expecting them to turn around the economy in 2 months is childish but waiting for 2 years isn't good either...cos by 2016 they vl be preparing for 2019 election.....there should some reform by reforms by winter session 2014 or by year end and other by the end of next financial year i.e, march-june 2015.......year or year and a half is enough for'em to go over all the puzzles and put them in order i guess.

You cant change things overnight , i keep telling them that . with a modest monsoon things are going to get worse, not to mention expenses carry forwarded from previous years .. The only way to reduce food inflation , is to improve India's agriculture produce . With subsidies in agriculture linked to asset creation for agriculture within 2-3 years we will see a clear difference ... This year will be slow, primarily because NDA would want to stablize the economy before making any changes
