ABVP sweeps DU Students’ Union election- Modi effect?

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of RSS, on Saturday swept the Delhi University Students’ Union election. It won won three out of four seats in the election.

It won the posts of the university’s president, vice president and Joint Secy while the Congress’s student wing NSUI won the post of secretary.

ABVP candidate Raju Rawat won as the joint secretary’s post, Aman Awana and Utkarsh Chaudhary have been elected as president and vice-president respectively.

NSUI incurred massive defeat and it could manage to win only one seat with Karishma Thakur being elected to the post of DU secretary.

The candidates contesting for each of the four posts were- twelve candidates each for the posts of president and vice president respectively; 17 for the post of secretary, and 10 for joint secretary.

Main contest was between ABVP and NSUI.
