Rab should be limited to commando/specialized missions, not public affairs first. Giving them a bad name.

. .
RAB is a tactical response team, similar to SWAT. Though I agree, they should clarify their role more.

RAB is extreme level Multirole force , it consists of personnel from Army, Navy, Airforce, BGB, Police, Ansar :omghaha:

it is design in such a way to counter terrorism, effective force in war and some domestic law activities.

. .
RAB member files should be forwarded to ICJ and the force should be abolished for good, as it was the main instrument of extra-judicial killings by different regimes. One cannot enforce law by breaking laws and then establish rule of law this way. It is essentially a death squad.

Plus, please write letters to senate and congress that we don't want any fund for genocidal RAB. Please, send image of their atrocities.

It is very natural that the USA would extend finance to build a stronger RAB without which the country may be taken over by religious extremists. Fundamentalism will be worse even than the Awami leftism.

At the price of human rights?

At the price of human rights?

The expression, 'Human rights' in the context of politics in Bangladesh is at best an approximate expression, and at worst a fuzzy phenomenon that cannot really be measured and quantified. Its value changes always under the changing contexts.

However, I will understand it clearly in the context of Rana Plaza if someone said the basic human rights of the victims have been completely violated.

Well, human rights standards are there for a reason. If one is not careful, the monster can turn in an ugly head.

When there is no rule of law and no justice, people take up law in their own hand and some use religious extremism to get even with the oppressors. I do not support religious extremism period. But we should all know what pushes people towards religious extremism, how they find an opening to get into a society. First there has to be injustice, second there has to be sponsors of extremism who are interested to spread it for their geopolitical goals. Because of secular extremist Awami Leaguers and their Indian supporters, we have the first condition fulfilled. Now as soon as this situation gets into the radar of wealthy foreign nationals who want to spread their extremist version of Islam, the 2nd condition will be fulfilled. I squarely blame our Army for the emergence of this situation and who ever they are receiving instructions from to not intervene and take out this dictatorial regime and bring democracy back by holding a free and fair election. The Army (with whoever's instruction they are following) has failed our nation, because they could not do their job when we needed them most. The Army still has time to do their part. But if these scum Awami's orchestrate another sham rigged election and come back to power, then we can say that Army has truly failed us. I for one will urge everyone here to spread the word and support the following:
- strip the Army and its welfare association of all businesses
- strip their UN Peace Keeping duty by law
- establish alternate power centers that are more powerful than Army, like Marines and National Guard, who can save the nation, even if the Army fails us, like they are doing now

1) When Peelkhana massacre was taking place RAB was prevented by Awami League regime from preventing slaughter of 53 army officers.

2) When Awami League thugs openly terrorized students, teachers in educational institutions, RAB was kept in lock.

3) When Awami League terrorist openly brandishing gun and shooting people, RAB was kept on lock.

4) Awami League terrorist was even operated in RAB uniform.

5) Awami League even used RAB to kill garments workers leader like Aminul Islam.

BUT Awami and secular type did no mention of “fundamentalism” “extremism” for Awami League acts of terror and genocide.

Clear fact is – it is Awami League terrorizing Bangladesh with open and broad daylight killing, massacre of army officers, forcing workers into death traps, force disappearance and genocide at dark of night. All the while “fundamentalism” to label majority Muslim population remains phobia and propaganda tool for Awami League and their secular media. These phobia based propaganda started with outside instigation, spread by people like Sajeeb Wajed Joy and still attracts people like eastwatch and secular fundamentalist into it.

Hardcore secularists are always right no matter how evil or dumb they are.

*Pun intended*
