Situation is not good in Karachi but why Bahria Town is investing so huge here?? they say that they are making biggest Bahria Town here, why DHA is creating DHA City?? which is 2.5 times bigger than whole DHA of Karachi (all phases). Why so many ppl are still coming to Karachi from KPK, Tribal Areas, South Panjab, Interior Sindh?? Why Media ppl are shifting to Karachi??

its all because Karachi still generate more jobs than any part of Pakistan. When i got Govt. job in Rawalpindi in 2003 the first question ppl their asked was why u have come here? you could have earned more then twice from here in Karachi, one example a guy gave me was that, his cousin went to Karachi for vacation and its 10 year now he is living happily there bcoz he got good job there. Karachi is a giving city where poor can live better than any part of Pakistan.

DHA ,Bahria Town etc have their own very vast and effective security system and they sure have very solid plans to secur their residents and the place if they are encountered with any of such mishap so in other words only those can think of starting businesses at large scale there if only they can invest in millions/billions for their security....

i can also quote many examples from Punjab of people who moved here and how much safe and satisfied they are now feeling while living here....they call it an excellent decision taken at the right time to avoid any further mental and physical torture that they and their extended families had to face while living in Karachi....

and by the way this is not 2003...its 2014 and things have changed,circumstances have changed alot since then those ppl you whom you think are still coming from KPK,Tribal Areas,South Punjab etc and many other have either been killed or tortured or had to face this voilence because they werent the locals ...so last ones when die,the new ones arrive hahaha ...just joking....

Do you really know the demography of Karachi?? by your post it clearly shows how bias you are, do u really know how divided Karachi is now and how many factor / parties are involved here now? MQM ppl are not saint but they do at least some work for the ppl all others who have came to power are just looters of resources who give damn to ppl and for your information ppl from KPK and other parts of country are still coming to Karachi, have u seen new transport (Chin Chi) of Karachi which is in complete control of South Punjab ppl (Siraikies) and 6 & 9 seat CNG rikshaw service which is dominated by ppl from KPK & South Punjab, just few year back there were no Chin Chi & 6 & 9 seat rikshaws they have destroyed transportation system of the city and have become mafia of their own. I know many ppl who have shifted to Karachi recently for better jobs and many have transfered back to Karachi for many problems they faced in Punjab so problems are every where not just in Karachi.

MQM had been ruling Karachi for a long time....they make compromises with every new Gov and without taking any solid stand and then sticking to it....and just like any other usual party,they dont really care for the miseries of Karachiites so they are no different as they have proven it time and again....we discussed about these issues here in detail almost everyday during election days last year in April and May....everyone knows what happened ...how the results were modified....how people were killed....how people were directly/indirectly threatened to not to vote any other party other than MQM....im not being biased...thats how the majority thinks....you can control anyone's life by physically/mentally torturing them but cant atleast stop them having a certain view point on any city,it's certain ppl and their criminal activities.....

as MQM claims itself to be the party of middle class people,then they should have shown it thru their actions....by the way,if im not wrong the SC declared all the three major parties of Karachi,MQM,PPP and ANP having militant wings and that they are equally involved in all sorta crimes there....for the same reasons,Karachi has become the most most dangerous city to live in Pakistan which wasnt the case once upon a time as we have heard from ppl of that golden time...its even more dangerous than i think any city in FATA...atleast in FATA the militants are very well known and are being delt with full force...we know its Army/Gov vs Extremist while in Karachi,even knowing whose doing wt,the Gov/Army cant freely take any solid steps against them because they start playing victim card...and give ethnic color to it....so its pretty darn difficult there....

As to why that 650 + 350 (additional) Megawatt can be used better elsewhere economicaly, genius look up Pakistan's industrial locations. The industrial heartland of Punjab has approx 15 times the Units of Karachi installed. Most in export oriented sectors like textiles, pharma, sports, surgical goods & agri processing. The region spanning from Multan to Gujranwala, Sialkot & Wazirabad earns massive forex for Pakistan & the revenue generated (note not collected which happens in head offices like in Khi or Lhr) here forms the largest chunk of GOP's tax revenues. As to why Punjab gets all the infrastructure projects, again genius besides motorway all projects are provincially funded. Now I decry the use of funds on the metro bus by Punjab Govt too funds better spent on health or edu but get this they are provincial funds & what the Punjab Govt does with them, any non Punjabi has no business to be blunt questioning them vis a ve spending by their own provincial govts.
Now coming to the infrastructure why again, read a very basic theory to start off with, "Theory of regional comparative advantage". Link it with factors for business & industry location. When understanding shines on you, move to Porter's supply chain, link it with the revenue center concept. When you get that graduate to the Diamond Model by Porter & Boston Box applied to nations. If you still cant get why you are wrong after reading all this then Mr Darkinsky 7 others of your ilk, tum logo ka koi haal nahi.

Intellectually I gained zilch, personal satisfaction "lagaya poond zaya keetay nae" like a friend of mine in PWC Leeds (she is an ICAEW) said to me "You're hare brained. Why go for a 2nd CA ? Go do an MBA or get married!" I loled & did ICAEW. The case study though was an ala exp.
