[The word sharif is derived from the Arabic root "to be noble, highborn." Sharif is an honorific term that has a variety of meanings in Muslim usage, and the word is related in meaning to sayyid. Ashraf (the plural form of sharif ), like sadat (or sada, the plural form of sayyid), are subject to special rules in Islamic law.]
The oldest root of Sharif is actually Sumerian. This language gradually stopped being commonly spoken from the early part of the second millenium BCE and was used only as a liturgical language in the first millenium BCE until it became extinct.
Aryan is an identity based off a common language base, not a geneology, whereas Sharif literally means Noble with its geneology going to Prophet Ibrahim who was born in Ur, Sumeria. The prayer of Durood Sharif is alternately known as Durood Ibrahimi. There are Sharif clans in the middle east who descend from Prophet Ibrahim [~1900 BCE].
Sharif/Deva and Aryan existed together in Iran and India where the former acquired the language of the Aryans. The logical explanation is that Aryans acquired the special meaning of nobility in Iran and in early ancient India due to their interaction with the Deva.
