LONDON: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has said that 3 days have passed but perpetrators of Abbas Town tragedy could not be brought to justice.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said no government functionary bothered to even visit the blast affectees which shows the negligence and apathy on their part.

Altaf Hussain said since the 3 days notice to apprehend the culprits was over and no arrests were made, he authorized Coordination Committee to decide future strategy to this regard.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik claimed that four terrorists, who had allegedly been involved in the Abbas Town tragedy, were arrested on Tuesday, Express News reported.

Out of the four terrorists, three belong to the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), while one is associated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Earlier, Malik had lashed out against the Punjab government and said that all headquarters of the LeJ were in Punjab and there was no Shia-Sunni conflict in Karachi. He had also asked why the Punjab government was not taking action against the LeJ.

Karachi writhed in pain on Monday as scores of sobbing families buried their loved ones following Sunday’s carnage at Abbas Town which left around 48 dead and more than 200 injured.

Cities and towns went into shut-down mode as protests and rallies swept the streets in an outpouring of anger against the terrorist attack in Karachi’s Abbas Town on Sunday.

thank god they are caught...my friend's brother is also in hospital he was offering namaz when death just passed right infront of him....her house is also damage....

Isn't it too late even for a drama qeen like MQM? There have been numerous attacks in the country in the last five years. All the while MQM had been supporting a corrupt and incompetent government.

if MQM tries to stop the taliban it is labelled racist and a party who is trying to play ethnic cards, when MQM tries to accept the punjabis(LeJ), the pashtuns(TTP) and balochs(BLA) it is labelled as a terrorist party who is making karachi waziristan
